The positional play was outstanding. One of the best maximums I’ve ever seen in terms of that aspect. No ridiculous pots needed to save the break, just complete control with almost every shot.

I’ve been trying to beat him since he was 9 years old- never got close.

I was there yesterday what a maximum, That was me shouting Get In at the end of the maximum break, I didn't realise i shouted that loud 😂😂

​@@alanchamberlain9902 Nah he plays nothing like ebdon. He actually has flair, a nice stride around the table and a flow to his game. He isn't slow by any means. He's actually good to watch when he's playing well, makes it look easy and he's very confident these days. Ebdon was just a slow bore for me 😂

No player has ever made two 147s on the same day in competitive play, and there have been only three instances where two players made a 147 on the same day (but never two who were playing against each other): 24 August 2018, Paul Hunter Classic: Michael Georgiou (#140), Jamie Jones (#141) 8 December 2016, German Masters: Ali Carter (#126), Ross Muir (#127) 15 December 2011, FFB Snooker Open: Matthew Stevens (#82) and Ding Junhui (#83). Ding made yet another Maximum break on the 17th, followed by Jamie Cope on the 18th -- making four Maximum breaks in four days, by three different players.

What a clean maximum! No shenanigans needed. Nearly bottled it, this time at red no. 15 (in first frame he lost it at no. 14), but was lucky. Well constructed and well deserved in the end.

This guy shows you that it isn't just technique or style that makes you a great player (his head over cue and stance are shocking!!) but determination and having that born with talent...

Well, apart from that 1st red where he had a bit of luck with the cannon on the black, the rest was spottless. I didnt see many 147s if any with better positional play. I had a feeling he was always in control and wasnt going to miss ni matter what. Extremely clean 147, well done

That was elegant, the fact was with 8 reds left, Gary had no need to cannon anymore. That 13th black ❤ position was millimetre perfect. Giving the choice of either red. In pool you focus on an end pattern but to do it with such style on a snooker table makes this one of my favourite 147s. ❤❤❤

Pretty good, although it's still not coming close to what we've seen in November/December 2011 (seven Maximum breaks in four weeks, including four within four days, by three different players).
