Gary Owen On Kevin Hart vs Katt Williams, Amanda Seales, Mo'Nique, Tyler Perry & Drake vs Kendrick

Gary Owen joins Shannon Sharpe in this episode of Club Shay Shay for a candid and uproarious conversation that delves into the highs and lows of his personal life. The episode kicks off with lighthearted banter about previous guest Amanda Seales, setting the tone for an unfiltered discussion. Gary opens up about the challenges of his very public divorce, sharing amusing anecdotes that led to the realization that it was time to part ways. From the disastrous wedding to the complexities of co-parenting, Gary offers heartfelt insights into navigating the aftermath of his marriage. He candidly discusses the difficulties of being estranged from his children for over three years and reflects on the tumultuous relationships in his upbringing, including the impact of his brother's addiction. Gary also shares his experiences with interracial dating, revealing personal struggles and societal perceptions.
Then, Gary offers his candid take on everything from the Drake vs Kendrick beef to his own experiences in Hollywood. He delves into the intricacies of auditioning for roles like Django and reflects on the unique camaraderie fostered by films like "Think Like a Man." Gary opens up about his enduring friendship with Kevin Hart and shares heartfelt stories about the kindness of fellow comedians like Katt Williams. From navigating legal battles to dissecting the nuances of stand-up comedy, Gary provides insightful commentary with his trademark humor and honesty. He shares his perspective on industry controversies, the power dynamics of Hollywood, and the importance of staying true to oneself in the face of adversity. Gary's anecdotes range from the absurd to the profound, offering listeners a glimpse into the life of a comedian navigating the highs and lows of showbiz.

I am the child of divorce. I refused to speak to my father for 10 years. Every Christmas, Easter, and birthday he would send me card with a handwritten note telling me he would always love me, he was there when ever I was ready, and that he was praying for us to be able to heal. I’m proud to say I had to grow up and see the situation from an adult perspective vs a child. Now I talk to may Daddy at least once a week and he’s a fantastic grandparent. God is real- Gary just needs to give them their space and never speak ill of the mother regardless of her sins. The children will come back

I suspect that the children, as young adults, are extremely hurt by the way thier MOTHER was treated during the relationship, the break up and the divorce! They saw her pain! They watched her be broken and could not do anything about it. They are hurt, disappointed, angry and frustrated by thier inability to heal her, rescue her and alleviate her pain. If Gary wants a relationship with them, he will FIRST apologize to thier mother. Reconcile the horribleness of the divorce, offer her the RESPECT she deserves as the Mother of your FIRST LOVES. Then and only then will they come back to him. I pray Gary sees this comment and takes heed, he deserves a relationship with his children 🙏. God bless you Gary ❤

Agree. He is the epiome of the following Psalms which basically says if you are a person of God a person in need you should not have to ask, rather you conscience and heart should be pricked and urged to help. The opposite of this is why the world is in such a state because the "heart of man has waxed cold", others ptoblems are not thier concern and they must be to blame amd fight for themselves. Pity. All most people need is that little bit of selfless help to get back on the right track to a better life. But mever fear God sees and knows all. Pslams 37 verse 25 to 30 - I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed. Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell forevermore.

@@jtaylor3717I like Gary. Been watching him since Comic View days, but how does a woman put hate into grown children’s hearts? He cheated, broke up their family, then had two more kids a few years later on top of admitting he wasn’t always there. Most kids are gonna feel some type of way about that. He made his bed, so now he has to live with the consequences. They don’t have to forgive him!

The kids know the discretions on one side because one of the parents made sure it was heard. There were indiscretions on the other side but Gary didn't put it out there. He played fair and lost the relationship with his kids. The consequences of taking the high road were bad for him but the kids still have a parent they didn't lose faith in so in a way it is a win for some.
