Hell, I'm watching this video in praise of the late, great Patricia Neal. God, to have been her lover in those early years of her career. Gentle, but bold. Husky voice, supple body. Pardon my frankness, but something about that old school beauty I can never get over. Look up her biography, dear Lord. She paid several prices for her fame. She even lives on through her granddaughter, Sophie Dahl!

Mine too I have loved Coop since 1960 I was 10years old I just thought he was lovely loved his acting. WHEN older envied all the actress who worked with him THE FOUNTAINHEAD as you so right said filled with such sexual tension you could see they were in love!! LUCKY GIRL❤❤❤❤

Right. He was only 48 when this film was released and wasn't old, but like most other actors of that era, he aged very quickly after 40 because he was a heavy smoker. Plus, 40 or 50 back then was considered much older than it is now (the life expectancy for American men from 1940 to to 1945 was between 60 and 65). When I look at all those actors from that era, they all looked much older than they were after they turned 40. Most the the actors back then, including Cooper, Gable, and Bogart, died by the time were 60.

He was just so handsome--no actors like him around anymore. Thank goodness I don't go to the films anymore to see those gays prancing about. I wish I was young when Cooper was a star--woweeeeeee. My aunts all loved him.

It's strange that so much resentment even hatred is poured out on two actors.i.e. Gary Cooper and Patricia Neal for their so called relationship, what do you think the rest of the big hollywood names were up to..playing chess? Give me a break..they were not the first and certainly not the last to have affairs..and who is to say what happened..where any of you there? Let some-one cast the first stone etc....

I can see these to actors loved each other especially the fact he left his wife and daughter for her but what ever brought him to leave Patricia to go back home. That’s a mystery I’d love to know.

I read about it in her autobiography. She knew she couldn't have the baby because at the time, an actress who bore a child outside of wedlock would be ostracized from Hollywood. Ingrid Bergman didn't work for years in the US after she had a baby out of wedlock. Neal said she wished she had the courage to do what Bergman did. Everything was very hypocritical. Everyone was having affairs like crazy but God forbid anyone have an illegitimate child

Tough one. She loved Gary Cooper enough not to obligate him with a child. He was a married man. She loved him enough to give up her child for him. Not a fan of abortion. But I've not been in that situation.
