I heard "I walk through rain and fire" that's it I couldn't hear anything else. But that sound I had to find it. I googled the lyrics, couldn't find it. Downloaded shazam just for this, shazamed it, found the whole song, love it.

Gary Clark Jr has always had songs like this. “The Life” in his Blak & Blu album (and the song “Blak and Blu” itself). “Star”, “Wings”, and “Down to Ride” in The Story of Sonny Boy Slim. Usually the focus guitar comes back in the Live albums he has, and since he just released a huge touring list for this year, I think we can sit down patiently with a relieved heart and wait for some guitar tracks to come soon :)

Perhaps. This is sort of hiphop as well, and electronic(on the intro). I am also reminded of what psychedelic rock often is, and the overall aesthetics of the sound(specifically the chord choices and vocal stylings) and the visuals (specifically the noir-ish b&w aesthetics and editing style) seems to add some more heavy metal vibes. This is without genre to be honest. Some music just doesn't fit into object oriented classifications, and tends to be more "data oriented". Whatever that means, and for whatever that's worth as an opinion.

I thought that Clark is really a musician able to give blues and rock new impulses. Now, that I've heard two of the new songs I am disappointed. This is something between bombastic rock and commercial poprock without new inspiring and inspired sounds. For me wrong direction.
