Gary Barlow has written there certainly one of the most beautifull and romantic song i ve ever heard for many years and he sing it with a very sensitive and emotionnal way ,definitly Gary Barlow is a great GREAT song writer!!!!

gary is not underrated he is the best i love him he has such an amazing voice and it just gets better now he has the attention he deserves he is on x factor wins almost every award had a number one last year i hope he will carry one with take that number ones and also his solo career

I always understand every single word comes out of his mouth in any song, he does not swallow or just pronouce the lyrics quickly, no way.Thank you Gary you made my day. I don't understand why Gary doesn't sing this on his tour. while Dame Shirley has a great voice, this song seems to suit more Gary and it's so obvious it's his song in every single way. he sings it with so much soul and I honestly feel his voice is as good as Dame Shirley's.

Sorry Dame Shirley Bassey but Gary's version is something special! I hope Gary's solo carrer is not finished yet, i'd like to have a new work from him. What a voice and what underrated songwriter. Thanks Gary for your music.

Wow, I can't believe it, he really performed it incredibly well. I know he wrote it, and I'm not saying, by any means, that he's a bad performer, please, don't throw rotten eggs just yet :) I'm saying that anyone who sings a song after Shirley Bassey, well... good luck to him/her, he/she's got some LARGE shoes to fill :) And he managed to, almost effortlessly. I also liked him a lot in the "making of" video, the way he talks about music and "the sixth" is so endearing :)

Well I can agree that this song seems to suit Gary a little bit better, [doesn’t that say more about His inability to write in a way that suits the singer that he’s writing for?] I don’t think it’s right for people to say that Shirley sings it with no emotion. You can appreciate Gary’s version, without slamming the legendary damn Shirley Bassey. She sang it wonderfully to and with great emotion.

I think this song is not about Gary's ability to write in some way, but about his ability to sing and express emotions in his voice. I've heard Dame Shirley's version (concert video). I think, at the begining it's too low for her. When the song doesn't suit to your vocal range (or your vocal range doesn't site to the song...) it makes singing... I don't know... stressful, perhaps, and it might be less emotional.

I think Gary's version is better. He respects perfectly the timing in every strophe, and the song seem to be fitted better in his shoes than Shirley Bassey. The Shirley version, despite a great voice, is cold and gives less emotions.

Not keen on this one
