I had to get on my phone to comment. This was insane. you can tell he was having alot of fun riding the course. It's always such a spectacle watching him do his thing. I grew up in nj and when this dude used to show up to the park or a spot everyone would just sit and watch. Mad intimidating lol but it was always like that. Insane forever. Probably one of the most impressive athletes around right now.

Garrett absolutely murdered it. I cannot wait for the finals.

Garret is sick. He does oppo Shit so often and so well now you have to really pay close attention to see it. The level of riding now is insane and I’m so glad to see these riders that can ride anything from transition to steeet to any obstacle and just kill it without the entire run being “how many flips and whips can I do”. This was one of the coolest contests, amazing riders and energy pushing each other. Peraza, Reynolds, radiford, Felix and list goes on all absolutely killed it and I have only seen pre lims so far

Even when Garrett is sketchy (relative to his normal comps) like he was in these quals, he's still so dialed it's unreal.

Garrett needs to be on the Vans BMX Team.

Sure I'm old but... Vans should promote BMX safety by stipulating helmets must be worn. It's not so much about the rider but the many kids who will want to emulate them. Having said that it's a great setup and timely to have a well supported event after this year's x-games.

LGBTQ rider here. I've been into BMX since about 2001. So for me is like 20 or years for others it might be a few months and some more it might be decades. Hope this helps!
