One of the most important functions was missed here. Once you've hit a target, you can press the on/off button to decrease the sensitivity. The more times you press, the more the sensitivity will decrease, until you will get no signal unless the end of the pointer is basically touching your target. This is completely independent of the three setting sensitivity that can be selected by holding the power button in.

wow kev thanks for answering my question! I've had this thing for two years and did not know how to set it lol. I use it so much, I wore a hole right through the outer shell. they have great customer service, I sent it in and they sent me a brand new one. All I had to pay for with shipping. now I keep a rubber sleeve on it that I bought off eBay. also I keep it on a retractable keychain so that I can retract it and let go and it stays on my belt. thanks again and happy hunting.

Thank you...thank you, thank you. Finally a video on these settings that I can understand. I have been struggling with mine for awhile, my son was helping me and put it to the lowest sensitivity, and I couldn't get it back. I was starting to think it was defective. HAY KEN,HOPE I'M NOT TOO LATE TEXING YOU THIS MESSAGE (6-21-22) THE BLACK PRO POINTER 2 IS NOT AS GOOD AS THE OTHER ONE, PRO POINTER,ORANGE.THE BLACK ONE IS WATER RESISTANCE AND THE ORANGE ONE IS WATER PROOF IN FRESH AND SALTWATER AND CAN GO DOWN TO 20 FEET DEEP.NOW MAYBE YOU DON'T PLAN ON GOING SCUBA DIVING BUT IF YOU DO,AND I PLAN ON DOING SOME SILVER AND GOLD HUNTING WITH MY GARRETT AT MAX IN SALT WATER, USUALLY WHEN I BUY THING'S I SHOP AROUND,GET THING'S ON SALE LIKE MY GARRETT AT MAX WITH ALOT OF ACCESSORIES AND SOME WERE "FREE"BUT FOR ME I ALWAYS GO FOR TOP OF THE LINE,2ND ,YA,IT DEPENDS BUT I SHOP AROUND. MY AT MAX WAS ON SALE FOR,$759.95 AND A TON OF ACCESSORIES,GOT IT FROM DETECTOR WAREHOUSE NEAR DALLAS, TEXAS.,GOT IT IN 4 DAY'S.

That de tuning also works when you are trying to find your target in a hole you have dug. You take your pin pointer away from the hole ,touch it to the ground and then turn it on. Then your pin pointer will be sensitive only from the tip, not its entire length, and will not signal on the soil surrounding your target, and only your target or a metal object that's in the hole with your target.

You can also do an on the fly calibration by just holding the pp to the object and just quickly tap the button once and it will do the same as you turning it off and on. Just so you know. Great vid.

Beware of the Chinese counterfeits. Like a fool, I was suckered into the lower price one. It has GARRETT printed on the side and is orange. It should say Made in USA. Luckily, Ebay said I would be refunded, but who knows.

@@Robinson-Homestead LOL!!!!!!! YOU ARE VERY WELCOME, IT WAS A GOOD VIDEO!!!
Careful. Garrett AT is offered by 'Alibaba' for 1/2 of US price. It is most definitely a China made bogus copy. Buyer beware. The GP's [China made Garrett copies] are very sensitive and go 'hyper' after a relatively short time of use. Internal logic 'chips' are likely of lesser quality 2nds or rejects. Any international shipping Pinpointer is most definitely Not a true, made in USA Garrett the very best.

Just bought me the Garrett Ace 200 metal detector and having trouble finding my target when I did, it would usually be 2 or 3 in off to the left or right when I started digging and I just ordered this pinpointer and hopefully it will save me a lot of digging and help me find my target a lot easier.

@@Robinson-Homestead you're very welcome and I also subscribed. The reason I got back into metal detecting is because that's what my dad always love to do in the late 1960s and early 70s and he would always take me with him and it brought back memories when I seen these ads he had opened up his own metal detecting business but got sick of cancer and passed away in 1979 and I'm doing this in honor of him
