very nice
The Arm came down beautifully! Looks like your Running a BSR cart. Nice old turn table you have there, I have a few Garrards but not a Type A,, very nice
I love mine! It is a reat changer!
You touched the vinyl with a 78 rpm needle. I was able to see the moment I removed the head and showed the capsule. It should be on the underside of the needle-changing lever, 78, however it is LP, which means that by the time it touched, it was the needle for the 78 that was on the disc. Watch closely and you will give me reason.

Can't you see it says lp on both needles?
That is a well sorted Garrard! I've picked up a Garrard 209 to restore but am having trouble finding an original cartridge Woukd you have one to sell? Or would you have an idea as to fitting a Ronette 105 replica cartridge instead? Thanks in advance
I have Series A like yours. I’m restoring it. I can NOT get the tonearm to go down on the size 12” record size! I got it to do the 7” and the 10” size. But it won’t do the 12” size. I going crazy! Help! Ric
How do you remove the Astatic cartridge?

The Headshell pulls straight out. You may need to wiggle it slightly to get it to move. Most likely has been on there for many decades 😂. Just be careful and if not successful please take the player to a qualified stereo shop if you have one nearby.
