I have the 45 and think it’s great for my intended use the farthest I will ever run is 32 miles

They all track sleep & heart rate. However, Pulse Ox is only available in the Garmin 245M. If health metrics are your priority then go with Garmin 245M as it offers more in that department.

I'm an endurance horse rider, I use the old 310 Garmin watch, but want to use new from the forerunner series, I don't need heart monitor for the horse, I must have speed, pace, distance and duration of the ride, also I don't need music, which one do u suggest?

I would recommend Garmin 245 (non-music variant) as it offers 24 hours of continuous GPS activity recording. So if you are planning to track your horse riding sessions then you won't be charging the watch as often as the Garmin 45 & 55. Besides that, Garmin 245 also supports third-party horse-riding-related apps from the Garmin Connect IQ Store. Depending on your trail a watch with multiple navigation support like 245 can also be a boon for you. The last reason to recommend 245 is that it also gives you the ability to create a custom profile. So you can create a customized horse riding profile, select the important metrics you want to track instead of using a cycling or running profile to track your horse riding. If you are looking for something more reasonably priced then Garmin 55 is a good option too. However, compared to continuous 24 hours of GPS activity recording of 245 it offers 20 hours only. You will be able to track your speed, pace, distance, & duration using the watch. However, you won't be able to create a custom profile on the Garmin 55.

You gonna wrap it around your horses leg or something?

I'm using Samsung Active 2 for past 2 years. Not happy with its smart features and 1 day or just 12 hrs of battery life. I'm a runner and usually do 5km daily, 10km per week, and 21km per month. I'm confused to buy which one, 45, 55 or 245?

For running, Garmin 245 will be perfect. It has plenty of running oriented features. However, it doesn't have smart features like Samsung. So you will have to pick between the two. You can check my Watch 4 vs Garmin 245m to get better idea.➡️ kzread.info/dash/bejne/eIeuqqOTn83Idso.html

Yes, it does measure cadence on the Garmin app and in Strava.

Garmin 55 is great smartwatch for running so go with that. Garmin Coach can be a helpful feature for beginners as lot of runners end up injuring themselves because of pushing themselves early on. I don't see it being useful to experienced athletes like marathon runners.

The 45 uses Galileo as well

I have a fenix 3 and recently returned a samsung 4. I want update and I didn't like the battery life of samsung. I run and workout. I use an Amazon halo for health stats.

Both Garmin 55 and Garmin 245 will be perfect for you as it offers in-depth run analysis. Garmin 245 also offers extra runners-oriented features like Training Effect, training load, more sports profiles & better battery life. Besides that, Garmin 245 has some navigation features that you can use during trekking or other outdoor activities. You can also download and play music on it. However, if these features aren't a priority for you then you can consider Garmin 55. It's a great reasonably priced watch for runners.

@@eugeneloggins5296 Garmin Venu 2 is more of a direct competitor of 245. However, it features a touch screen and looks more like a smartwatch than a Garmin 245. They are not the same but if you want a touchscreen smartwatch then Venu 2 is a great smartwatch.
