    Man! Thanks for the advice. Never knew about that. It does help because in the long run you will always keep you from hitting off roof. I once hit a tree going through a neighborhood but that little corner that busted a small hole in the corner was costing the company 5k to fix. But just imagine hitting a bridge and having yourself have to fix your own truck. So would be the most important device to have

    I remember going into NYC without one. I ended going into a parkway and the first bridge was 11 ft, I had to back out in NYC traffic. I had to back out sideways on a hill, it was brutal 🙂

    I see people are still losing their tops. I remember the first time driving in NYC, I didn't have one, and I drove right into a parkway with an 11-foot bridge. It took me an hour to back out of there, in New York traffic. It was nerve-wracking 😃

    @HT03 It does, but you'll have to buy a separate attachment to plug into the truck. It's a one time payment thing.

    great video I think my gps search is over question about the eld warning you mentioned. does this track your hours of service and have an alert display you cant remove? im on paper logs and dont have eld in my semi.

    Honestly, I've never used the GPS ELD. I've only trust Keep Truckin for that. I've heard good things about it, but someone just told me it's doesn't email the records to D.O.T. Great GPS but I'd leave the ELD to people who specialize in ELD's.

    Great review thanks, I am in Australia driving a big coach (13 meters) in the Middle of the city and finding buses free parking is hard, do you think this unit gives you parking options for heavy vehicles? And also does it need internet connection to function properly?

    I have a question, between the 610 - 1010 versions of this OTR gps. Do you think its worth paying more for the bigger screen? Theres like a $400 difference between the different models. And if im not mistaken the only difference is the screen size.

    It's a matter of preference. Big is always better when it comes to a GPS, especially in big cities with low bridges.

    I've never used it, so I couldn't tell you how well it works. You can find the attachment on the Garmin website. Just Google "Garmin ELD' and it will take you to the site.

    i got the 570 dont see a need to update since my maps are updated lifetime garmin is good but it sometimes takes me on bad turns that i cant be on and no truck zones so you still gotta use your head i'm in nj ny ct pa area

    Hi, I’m going to start driving a straight truck in Nj & Ny. My biggest concern is staying off the parkways & certain highways in Ny where I’m not allowed to drive. I’m wondering if I should just keep my regular car gps & put “No tolls” in the settings to stay away from the parkway or buy a truck gps..what would you recommend?

    I drove into a Parkway in NYC, and the first bridge was only 11 feet high. It was hell trying to back out of there in New York traffic. I was using a regular GPS at the time. I booked a load him so I could pick up my Garmin. 😂

    I think I did have some trouble connecting with the app on my phone, but don't remember what I did. I think you need to connect the Bluetooth. You don't need the phone app for it to work though.

    Just bought this same gps. Under babysitting. Two option... First is fastest time. Second is straight line.. Does the straight line take your short route opposed to fastest time?

    I'm not sure, I've never looked. I think it only shows you the truck stops, and most have diesel #2

    Mines does this stupid thing where I set the gps and it doesn’t talk to me to tell me turns and the screen goes black!! It’s annoying and I’m not sure what to do.

    hey brother, i make about 2-5 stops a night. is there a way to enter multiple stops at once so I dont have to input a new address after each of my stops?

    Can’t seem to find the format for inputting GPS coordinates from Google Maps. Example 29.151333, -98.589491. I tapped on the various formats for coordinates, but none seem to be in this format. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.

    There's an option in settings on Google maps to avoid low bridges toggle it on and you can avoid tolls as well

    @@boss-lyfe Once you set your destination, you can go into settings and change those options. Just remember to reverse the process if you're in your daily driver. Great vid btw.

    You hit the 3 dots and hit route options. Low bridges is definitely not an option on google maps. Maybe one day but not an option as of now.

    I'm guessing there is a 40 ton restriction on that road. Most trucks are under 80,000 pounds so I don't think it's a problem if you're under that weight.

    @@raymondalbers9676 That's a good question. I don't if it does, I use EZPASS for tolls. I like to drive past toll booths without stopping. I didn't see that option on the GPS.

    I don't remember if it does, it I think the gps itself does. I always run Google maps with the Garmin because Google is good with traffic and accidents up ahead. Just don't use Google for truck directions, it can get you into trouble.

    @@boss-lyfe yea my older DEZL 500 series died and I got this otr700 today , it does give live traffic when hooked to your phone just like the last one, been a truck driver for 35 years just need to know whats ahead to detour, I go to the same place everyday so the only thing that interests me is traffic and detours

    Yes, make sure it's plugged in and on wifi when updates are available.

    @@GrabinGears Yeah, I did my updates at hotels. Play with the options, there are a lot of useful tools on there. I usually have it set to upcoming cities, and it shows me upcoming fuel stops, hotels, parking, etc. You're going to love it 🙂

    Why the hell our updated Dezl still leads us into roads where bridges are lower even we enter our truck measurements??? Also BS in our user side is that GPS just don’t let to finish destination when there is no house nr…It needs street,house nr etc but we have situations where there is no exact adress just a street maybe. So most of the times we still use GoogleMaps and use this GPS as secondary tool

    I'm not sure, I've never had a problem with it. I wouldn't recommend using Google GPS, that will definitely lead you to low bridges.

    No, it doesn't need any connection at all, just a power source so the battery keeps charging.

    I just learned about a week ago that Google maps has the option to enter manually, turn by turn directions. So for those of you that don’t have the money to purchase such a fine piece of equipment as the Garmin Dezel , perhaps with the right amount of research, a cheaper way could be available. But I’m not calling the Garmin Dezel a bad investment. I believe that it is a fine investment

    I've driven gas box trucks, but you are right. If I said gas or both, it's because I always mix my words up. I get my kids names mixed up all the time. It's nothing malicious, but something I do a lot without realizing it 🙂

    Just don’t update the thing, all of the sudden the stupid thing stays on the loading screen, has a small load bar and will go a quarter of the way then reboots. They work great, just don’t update it!
