Great review...I haven't had a golf watch in so long and think today is the day that changes...the screen and battery life along with all the great info you get, and it just looks sweet...done deal.

Bought a used S62 ($290)about a year ago (s10) was my previous watch.. I love it. It's my everyday watch. Virtual caddie is the best thing ever, but I must admit seeing the s70 come around made think about buying it.. thanks for the honest review #newfollower

Thanks, I pulled the trigger on the S70. This is my first golf watch so I thought it was worth the investment. I’m an Apple Watch ultra guy (lte version) and really disappointed that I couldn’t find an app that would allow me to use it with GPS tracking from the watch. I don’t like having my phone on me while playing and while golf apps would display distances on my watch it was actually being calculated from my phone which isn’t near my ball location.

Apple Watch guy here. What golf apps have you tried and liked? I tried the Arccos and it never made a complete round without freezing the app or missing multiple shots. Never worked with my putter. So, I’m done with them. SwingU is all about a subscription fee. Free features are worthless. I tried 18Birdies and didn’t like their “social app” feature. I have the USGA GHIN and Bushnell, MyTaylormade+, V1 Game, and a couple more. I am about to give up. I just use my rangefinder and settle for my current game

Garmin S62 here and it has never missed a single shot on any club nor my putter with and without the sensors.

I really liked using Hello Birdie. I did a review a little while back. It's a solid app and never froze for me while I was testing. I liked that you could plan your round before hand on your phone and transfer that info to the watch. It has a subscription cost to unlock premium features, but would still be a lot less then buying a 2nd watch. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Can you copy all the settings from the s62 to s70? Or do you have to set the s70 up from scratch? Like favorite activities. Data points. Watch faces. Etc etc.

As long as you sync it to your pc or mac using the Garmin Express app everything carries over. If you just sync it to your phone then you'd have to manually move stuff. I make a habit of syncing and updating the watch via Garmin Express. I find just using my phone doesn't do the same full software update and install process.

Hi Good video.....i currently have the s12 and no other watches ...and am trying to decide between the s62 / s70 / Apple series 8......still can not decide.....i golf about 120-150 rounds a year.... I want something that can be used as a good golf watch and a good everyday watch with health stats........interested in what your thoughts are on this.....thx...cheers from Vulcan Canada

120-150 rounds a year !!! WoW, I’m jalous here (I’m between 15-20 going up). For me With that number of rounds I would jump on it. Good golf

If you go for Apple, get the Ultra. The extra battery life is invaluable.

Amazon! It’s an off brand Garmin Quickfit 22 band. I’m going to do a video showing how to change the band and where to get them cheap. Don’t pay $$$ for Garmin’s official bands.

I just sent my S70 back after almost a month with it. I think it's great on the course, but after the round it is not great. The Garmin Golf app is legitimately terrible compared to other apps when it comes to helping you improve as a golfer. Yes, it does a good job tracking shots and giving you club yardages, but every GPS golf app does that and that's where it stops with Garmin. I've used Arccos for almost 3 years and the post-round analytics is so much better than the Garmin golf app.

HelloBirdie is a good app to use with your Apple Watch.

Apple Watch ecosystem is too attractive, sadly. I wish Garmin would just port their functionality to Apple Watch Ultra, & stop trying to compete with Apple.

That would be cool! That said, Garmin does a great job with their GPS tracking and battery life. The benefits an Apple Watch provides are unmatched, but you sacrifice battery life and size.

@@BogeyKingGolf Garmin should just make their GPS tracking available to 3rd party apps since they don't want to invest much into the Garmin Golf app. I want advanced analytics like Strokes Gained that other GPS tracking apps provide. I would have kept my S70 if I could use a different tracking app besides Garmin Golf.

Why would you pay so much for a garmin watch that has no trade up value???
