Modric and VDV were exceptional at this point as well. But I know what you are saying. I feel this way about Bale's entire 12/13 form. Absolutely incredible to watch each week. Suarez was the same in 13/14. It's not necessarily meant to be disrespectful when you say "average team," the point is that they had no right to be performing and pushing the team/teams around them in the way they did with the squad they had. And 1 player in particular made them exceptional or near champions. Those Bale and Suarez seasons will forever be in my brain.

Inter was full of world class defenders then : Maicon, Zanetti, Lucio, Walter Samuel, Christian Chivu, Ivan Cordoba. But Bale destroyed them.

Once i was kid and had flu so i had chance to watch late champions league game because next day i was supposed to miss school and this game was on TV ,remember like it was yesterday , full of emotions watching first time gareth bale as a left back and this amazing performance against inter(i am ac milan fan ) made me fan of him , i watched spurs games in pl ,in 2013 he was in his prime but then when he moved in real madrid , he became system player and all this individuality vanished , his driblings, long passes , he became a good world class right forward but individually very limited footballer. I love this video because i watched so many times back then and i appreciate this work.

This kid has alot of potential if he can play like this I see him joining real Madrid, teaming up with Cristiano and Benzema to terrorize La liga and Champions league. He may even win 5 Ucl titles who knows and finish his career in the sunset of Los Angeles with the LA Galaxy. I hope it comes true

Honestly I don't think Maicon's downfall started from this match. He was already declining, I remember being at the San Siro the season after the Treble, and I was really surprised at how little Maicon was running .... this included even the first games of the season ... I honestly don't know what happened to him, he used to be a beast.

You can’t teach pace. Bale I believe is the quickest in game sprinter there’s ever been recorded in football, but his knowledge of how much space he needs to outpace is exquisite.

Still remember the anticipation for what Bale was going to do to Inter before the 2nd leg (this game). It was his coming out game and what a career it has been since.

Bale is not just speed but also very skillful🔥

This home game 2 weeks later at the lane is the best performance by any spurs player in half a century.
