The Gardens of Versailles occupy part of what was once the Domaine royal de Versailles, the royal demesne of the château of Versailles. Situated to the west of the palace, the gardens cover some 800 hectares of land, much of which is landscaped in the classic French Garden style perfected here by André Le Nôtre.

A view from the very end of the main canal back to the palace is missing.
I'm planning to go see this year in Autumn. It might be cold, but it seems like it will be worth it!

Lauren Maslin I have been there and its really worth it. But dont go for a Day stay a couple of days because you can't see everyting in a day :)
