Im sorry I haven't been uploading as much. I was pretty tied up with things and didn't have much time to film or edit anything.
Since Mother's Day is fast approaching I thought these would be perfect especially with a touch of Spring 🌸🌼
You can also always make these toppers for a Garden theme cake or simply even as a spring themed.
If you're wondering about the Wheel Barrow I will be posting the tutorial for it next week.
Everything is stuck with edible glue.
To make the toppers I used 50/50 of sugar paste and gum paste.
A lot of the colours used are either in pastels or just in small amounts to make a lighter pastel like shade.
I used pink, eucalyptus, yellow, orange, grey, mint green, lighter shades of red, blue, lilac, brown. To make the pots I used more of orange, a hint of red and a small amount of brown. All of these are sugarflair.
If you don't have a lolly pop stick for the bird house you can also use a skewer.
What you see me piping inside the flowers is just white Royal icing.
All of the toppers are sitting on an 8" cake board.
I’ve had requests from viewers asking me about the weights of toppers. Ive never worked that way. Everything is always eyeballed according to the size of the cake it goes on. Ive been doing this way for years and even though I’ve tried it I’ve found its very difficult for me to follow the weight method.
