May I know how many times can we reuse the seed raising media? Do we need to add nutrients to it after a few rounds of using it? If yes, what kind of nutrients to add?

Thanks for the video! Just to clarify, so I can use peat moss, pearlite and vermiculite for both germination of seed, and then after transplanting to larger container, it's the same mixture? Do I need to use fertiliser for this soil-less mix? If yes, what organic fertiliser do you recommend?

Hi Wilson, thanks for the very informative video for people like me who are new to growing vegetables. Wondering if the self-watering pot will breed mosquitoes. Have to change the water every 2 days? Will keeping the pot indoor away from rain and leaving the rubber stopper plugged in help to prevent mosquito breeding?

Why do we need to sow the seeds in seed trays and then transplant into the container that has the same soil? Is there any difference if we sow them in the destination container at proper spacing spacing just like the seed tray?

Hi Rick, this is because if you straight away sow it at the destination container, everytime you water it, it ill hold too much water in the soil when the seedlings are still small. I did this with my chinese mustard. I planted them about 10 seeds straight away in the destination container, and they grew into seedlings, but most eventually died because the soil holds too much water and the root cannot breathe. In the end from 10 seeds i sowed, left with two only haha. It is highly advisable to use a seed tray first, where each cell will not hold too much water in the soil which will not allow the seedling roots to breathe, and will die.

@@justineroosevelt944 Hi Justine, thanks for your reply! Really appreciate it cos I am still puzzled over this and nobody would say anything. However I am not really convinced by your explanation.. because the destination pot contains the same soil as that in the seedlings tray, wouldn't it be just as breathable in the pot or tray as long as you bury the seeds at the same depth? You said your seedlings died in the destination pot due to too much water in the pot, wouldn't it happen the same if the seedlings tray is overwatered? In other words, wouldn't those seeds you directly planted in the destination pot be just as fine if the destination pot is just watered to be slightly moist but not too much?
