I put all the detailed tour videos in a playlist. You can go through this list to see if you missed one. I will not likely do this again for a long time🤣. Thanks for following with the project. kzread.info/head/PLxYqoR2FCE_1MGa8WltgyXGuswMfHYSUL
So glad to hear someone else comes home with plants that just happen to end up in their cart. I did this twice this spring - I either found a place in my garden or shared with a friend
You should try some Common milkweed too its so beautiful and the flower is ahh... they smell so good, it can be a bit of a bully in the garden but its worth a little bit of maintaince it takes to keep em in check. You mentioned in another video the caterpillars devour milkweed? never seen that, but cant wait to see if that happens this year

I have common milkweed in my garden. Last year we counted 8 caterpillars! Still waiting and hoping for caterpillars this year. You're right it's a bully and I have to edit it out around some plants. These plants were here when the garden began. I want to try some of the other milkweeds next year. I'm zone 5, upstate NY.
Jim i just love your garden ! I started mine when you did but had a serious illness and was down for about 7 months. Getting better but wish mine was where yours is. I will keep working and watching you until mine is as beautiful as yours😊
Because of you I am going to do a lot of my annuals from seeds next year. I attempted this year with some zinnia and they are doing awesome. They are strong and beautiful. This is my first year at gardening, so I am taking in a lot of information and through trial and error will give it a whirl.

Enjoy!!
I will never not enjoy a good pollinator garden video. I planted tons of African Blue Basil (which you recommended) that all the native bees are loving. Hummingbird sightings daily going for my zinnias and salvias. Butterflies on Joe Pye Weed and Hardy Lantana. Thank you for all the tours!

That basil is just amazing!! Thanks for following along.
Love your doggy.
I enjoy seeing your garden and how it matures. Lots of things I'm considering for my garden because of yours. I always appreciate your knowledge. Thanks 😊
I alway find a new plant I want to try by watching these videos!! The dwarf Joe Pye weed is it in this one!
I looked for your White Wedding Hydrangea, but no luck, your are beautiful. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
Absolutely gorgeous garden! Thank you for the recommendations.
I love how excited you get about the bees! I love watching them also!
I’ve been loving all these detailed tours! Thanks for that effort and for collecting them in one place so we can review later!
And that's more varieties added to my wishlist! :) Thanks for the detailed tour. Rabbits have wreaked havoc with my flowerbeds this year. I think next year I may try some kind of organic deterrent. I love seeing the rabbits, but wow they're destructive. If only they'd eat the annoying weeds!

I also love the bunnies... they unfortunately love my hostas!! I use liquid fence.. it doesn't hurt them but they leave them alone cause they stink! (The smell disapates quickly enough for humans though)

My landscaper suggested fox urine pellets. I ordered it from Amazon! I did it in the beginning and forgot to do it but my pansies have been left alone!
I really love the ‘Wish’ series of salvias; and so do my hummingbirds as well 😍 I find myself watching all of these videos on repeat; studying the plants you use and how you place them. I’m in love with the borders you have created at your new place. I would like a similar look in my garden one day 🤞💚

@@JimPutnam Best native species for pollinators is definitely boneset and golden rod.
The goldfinches fly right past the thistle feeder for the rudbeckia and echinacea! Seeing the males sitting up there makes it look like the flower is still blooming. Thanks for the reminder to keep mint contained - it was an early garden mistake and it took me years to eradicate.
I watch these when I need to 😃 and learn.
Watching your videos is like taking a mini-vacation to a beautiful garden. Thank you for sharing the beauty of nature.

You are first NC Gardner I found. This is awesome because I live in Durham so we have same climate!
Thank you for putting the plant’s name on the screen.
My goodness! How everything has grown! This is beautiful! I have a few of these varieties that are not nearly this big yet. I hope they end up looking as good as yours do! Wow!
Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful garden everything looks beautiful love all the colors. 👍👍👍
I had a smal garden, so when I see a big and Beautiful garden I am jealous! A lot!
Thanks Jim, your garden is beautiful, I hope to someday achieve a beautiful garden 💚🙃

I'm sure you're on your way.
I'm in Zone 7a and plant Cuphea for the hummingbirds. Last winter I put some frost cover on top of it to see if it would come back and to my surprise I was successful:) I had the cover slightly raised with a few of those thin bent into a U shape metal rods.
Beautiful love to have all those flowers in my house
Just stunning! This is the first year that it looks filled in like you said it would - super nice! I actually thought the butterfly bush looked nice in the border. But it does block the beautiful White Wedding hydrangeas. I can't wait for your front yard to fill in like this! Well done!!!
This has transformed so nicely over time. Looks great.
I struggle with planting for winter interest but you’ve given me many ideas. I’m hoping you’ll film a winter garden tour. 🙂
The garden looks lovely! Annual red salvia use to be every where in garden centers, now I rarely see it for sale. The humming birds adore it.
Love that show us their name and growing zones
Toothache plant... an old time medicinal plant for toothaches. I have a similar one...take the leaves and crunch on them in your mouth and your area you are chewing does go numb! Fun, beautiful plant.
I am enjoying these detailed tours so very much! Thank you! My plant wish list is getting long!
Flowers and pollinators 💚💚💚
LOVE THIS! Love your channel and yard! The progress in your little over a year new home is inspiring. I know it’ll never feel quite done no matter what though!
Thank you for sharing Jim beautiful yard 🌻🌼🌻
Love your garden. I learn so much from your videos.

I really enjoyed this tour. Lots of great specimen. I’ll be on the lookout for a few new items for fall and next year. Thanks.
Wow! Just gorgeous!
JIM I LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOUR DETAILED GARDEN 🪴 TOUR, I LEARN SO MUCH AND LOVE TO SEE HOW YOU LAY OUT EVERYTHING, IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND I WISH I WAS THERE!!!!!! MY GARDEN IS TINIE TINY BUT IT WORKS FOR ME!!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR SHARING!!!!
Super excited to learn about babyjoe pye weed!
I gotta seek and find the dwarf Joe-pye weed! Had the native version at my last house and loved it. Btw Jim, these in depth episodes are worth it! So informative👍

I bought both Baby Joe Pye and Chocolate Joe Pye at American Meadows this spring.
Wow, Jim, I’m shocked (in a good way) how much your garden has filled in! I watched your videos last winter, and have been too busy for KZread this summer, so it’s cool to see the explosion of growth. Goes to show how well compost and all that works!
That Diamond spire gardenia is awesome! I’ve never seen one like that before.
Wonderful! This was like a blood transfusion to me! It snowed, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin today. Thank you!
Pretty amazing! Great job, absolutely beautiful! 💐
Whoa your garden exploded! Gorgeous.
Wow!! Just beautiful ❤️😍😍
All this time I've seen you in passing on KZread videos... I didn't know we lived in the same city! I want to come see your garden
I love your garden♥️
Joe Pye weed is one of my favorite plants
Looking great! I will try Angelonia next year.
Amazing. So beautiful
My abelia is just coming into bloom now as well. It was pruned to the ground when we had some trees taken out in February and I was worried that they wouldn't come back, but they look happier than ever now!

me gusta tu jardín 🪴 porque tiene todo, sobretodo porque los polonisadores pueden sobrevivir 🌱🐸🐝🐞🦋🌻🌳
I've only just found your channel, and this is the 2nd video I'm watching. I'm enjoying your in-depth tours. I'm in northeast Iowa, zone 5b, so unfortunately can't grow many of the things in your garden, but I love to see them nonetheless. And you have introduced me to a couple of plants that will grow here! Thanks much for showing us your garden, and giving such good detail as well, including hardiness zone. Though our winters are much colder than yours, our summer can be very hot and dry, so need to have plants that can withstand that; so some of the Southern Living plants are appropriate for here.
Very nice. Thank you.
Wow Wow wow!!!
👍👍👍👍👍 another great tour Jim
Jim, if you come tour our garden we will take you out to dinner!
Flower bloom ... waow beatifuly Really enjoying ... Garden lover !!
Are you going to do a video on just the plants you started from seed?

Most definitely!
You were suggested to me from Garden Answer so I took a look Now I'm subscribed and about to binge watch I sure enjoyed looking at your beautiful garden Best Wishes from The Great Lake State of Michigan🐢
Love your garden and everything looks so healthy well except those marigolds 🥴🤪
I want to see the progress of your hydrangea standard.. you were working on early spring. Thanks for sharing.. love your garden.

It will be in the last of these videos. Looks great, but hasn't grown much yet
Hello Jim and thanks for your continued Garden Tour. I especially like how you go into detail about each plant and include their names & zone on the screen. Could you please recommend a shrub that compares to your beautiful loropetalum, but will grow in Zone 6?Thanks kindly and happy gardening!
Very interested in pollinator plants. Thx!
Ready for you to plant something 😀
Verbena bonariensis is one of my all time favorites, for all the reasons you listed. It reseeds READILY in my 5b garden, and even overwinters (it’s a zone 7-11) so I never have to buy it. It’s easy enough to thin, so I don’t mind at all, but I’m surprised your entire space isn’t covered in it!

I pull out the volunteers early and often 🤣
Jim how do you remember all of that?! BEAUTIFUL
Everything looking so good Jim. I'm always looking to make more plants & just discovered how easily cuphea roots in water & I've got a salmon color annual Salvia that seeds around nicely. My Torenia seem to go in & out of bloom, is that common? Really like the dwarf Eupatorium, will look for it. Thanks for these detailed videos & Holly too!
Nice!🥰❤️😊
I have The Grand Cascade butterfly bush. This is the first year I bought a butterfly Bush and fell in love with this bush. Do you think it could be made As a good informal hedge? It’s just so beautiful!!!!
Super
В нашей стране обычно женщины занимаются садом, а мужчины занимаются строительством дома, подсобных помещений, земельными работами и газоном. Так необычно видеть, что мужчина увлечен растениями.
Have you ever tried cape fuchsia and autumn sages? They do so well in the heat and drought of SC.
Amazing! How about a drone view of the property? That would give a different perspective and view of the garden. It would be so cool to see.

I did some drone video on instagram last week. I will include it in the last tour
Hey Jim, I’m interested to know what size your shed is and where you bought your shed kit or if it came with your property. I love the windows, the window boxes, and the off set double doors. We’ve been looking for one just like this to add to our garden.
Your daisies looks so great. I have the banana cream and they did great for awhile but around his time the leaves just get sort of black and look awful. I’m not overwatering but I’m not sure what to do.
Jim, I love the Angelonia and have a fair amount in my beds. I also have Pentas but have trouble getting them to re flower. I have them in a large pot with a white Buddleia and cut off the dead flower heads but it takes weeks between bloom and rebloom. What can I do to keep them blooming?
Holly you’re a good girl!
I had a question: I have some of these Grand Cascade Butterfly Bushes in my front yard between me and the road. I planned on cutting them back to 12 inches above the ground in late winter so they will stay smaller but when I saw yours I was curious if this tall size was all growth from one season? If so this is a fast grower. I will still keep mine I where they are for now but I think they are a bit more vigorous than I had thought. Thank you
Your garden is beautiful . I have a question ? I have a dog and sometimes he breaks my new plants . How you take care of your garden with your dog 🐕
Hi Jim, I have a question regarding air layering redbuds? Do you know anything about it ? I am experimenting right now with hydrangeas and figs, was going to attempt with a redbud... and I don't even have a space where to plant it even if I am successful. Thanks for the nice garden tour!
Jim I have a small area of grass that we put down last year in a circle over our septic drain lines. What would you recommend to put on the outside of the circle to form a border. This will be over the lines.
I'm in Central Florida and now is the time some of my plants like Angelonia, Slavia and Pentas shrivel up and die. Not.sure what causes it. Maybe bugs or is it the constant dampness?
Do you have a video on your watering system?
How did you get that Japanese Maple into that beautiful form? I love that.
😍😍
Any tips for trying to start a garden with a dog in the yard? He dug up half of my bulbs this fall/ winter. He hasn't bothered my roses.
I have hydrangea “Moondance” it’s very thirsty
Are you having problems with spittlebugs this year? Seems that they and the aphids are particularly bad in Alabama zone 8.
Jim, Wher did you find the Summer Jewel Pink Salvia? I would love to grow it for my pollinators. .

I've bought them at Park Seed, and in a pack of mixed colors called Bee Heaven from Renee's Seed. They reseed readily, so you may not have to buy any more seed after the first batch!
I love your camera quality. What camera are you using thank you
How do you like stripes in the lawn?
Was Princess Hydraenga got released? I see Fairytrail Bride from Proven Winners. Are they the same?
