Thank you Nisha. Unfortunately there is no fool proof way. We have chicken wire in our backyard fence. So that helps. In front I use bunny repellent. It is not organic so I don’t use it in the back where my fruit trees and veggies are. Bunny repellent gets washed off in rain so have to reapply often

wow!!! That is a lot of work; do you have a gardner to take care of all? Whatever we plant the stupid deer comes eat it all. Wow so beautiful! This must take so much dedication but bring so much joy :) Is a pond liner necessary? I have a deep barrel I'm using to start a water garden and was planning to put bricks I have at home at the bottom of the barrel to bring the plants closer to the surface. I'm new to gardening but am very excited and inspired by your videos!

Thank you Myra. No, a pond liner is not necessary at all. I have quite a few aquatic plants and was running out of space to put my individual containers. That’s why I switched to the larger pond liner. You set up sounds great.

Beautiful garden tour as always and love your detailed explanations.. had few question, if you can help answer few, that'll be great? 1. The ones you mentioned as winter sowing, were they all annuals? 2. Do you plant allium bulbs and (if tulips) every fall or its perennial once sowed and forget? 3. Please do a video on fertilizer / care for flowers and veggies wheneveryou get a chance.. i have planted a bunch of seedlings/ seeds this year, but seeing your peas thriving, i can say mine looks all "shoshichu" and weak. Great going Vidhya!

Thank you Laks. 1. No they are perennials or biennials (fox glove). I have had more success with perennials in winter sowing. 2. Yes I plant in Fall. Both don't like heavy clay soil (which we have) and rainy summer, again that's how VA weather is. So both rot for us over the season. If planting them, i'd suggest till and amend the soil. Then alliums and tulips will comeback. Also google perennial tulips and buy only those. Most hybrids are annuals. 3. will try. I don't have a schedule. I just fertilize when I remember.

Ha ha, biju kelkkanda 😆. The plants are in smaller pots, so the plan is to drain it and take the pots out and store separately in winter.

Any suggestions for my clematis to flower along the bottom of the plant? Mine only flowers on the top, I see that yours are fully covered with flowers from bottom to top.

Do you know what type your clematis is? You can prune it but timing depends on which type it is.

I googled to look up and found the suggestions to prune according to the type and will prune. Let’s see what it does next year. Actually peony doesn't need much care at all. In fact it doesn't like too much fertilizer. I just add some osmocote early spring. Only thing about peonies is not to plant them too deep. If you do they won't flower. They need full sun too. They don't like moving much. So unless you are an expert I wouldn't suggest moving or dividing. You may lose flowers for a few years if you do.

Beautiful plants! Our plants are eaten by deers. Do you know how can we protect plants from deers?

I spray for only 2 things roses and apple. Rest I don’t spray.

ചേച്ചി , walmart ന്ന് bulbs കിട്ടുമല്ലോ ..അത് വാങ്ങി Peony നട്ടു .. എല്ലാം ഇലകൾ മുകളിലേക്ക് ഉണ്ടായി. But stunted growth ആണ്‌.. എന്റെ ചെടികളും, വെണ്ടയും എല്ലാം miraclegro ന്റെ soil ആണ്‌ use ചെയ്തത്.. എന്താണ് ചെയ്യേണ്ടതെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു തരുമോ ചേച്ചി

Yes, those bulbs take a few years to establish. Next year also most likely you will get leaves only. If you are lucky you might get one flower or 2. Third year onwards you will get flowers. From then on it almost doubles in size every year. All perennials are like that. First year they sleep, second year they creep, and third year they leap. Not sure which part of US you are in. Our veggies are slow this year too because fo the weather. Even last week we had low 50s night temps. Those are all heat loving veggies so need full on heat.

Don’t think so. Maybe in cold places like munnar or wyanad some might. The flowers that can be grown in hot climates will start blooming only in July for us as that’s when it gets hot here. They will not come back year after year. We have to buy them every year or start from seed.

Not really, if you buy bare root they are cheap but you have wait 3 years for them to bloom. In general perennials are more expensive as they come back year after year. These are zero maintenance and lasts for decades so worth every penny.
