Garden Oasis OVERGROWN again! What will we FIND this time?

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Garden Transformation. We are here again, preparing this wonderful (yet overgrown) garden for the new owners of this house. Move in date, not yet confirmed, so it has given me extra time to get the garden looking closer to how it use to look and give it a landscaping makeover.
I don't know who's moving into this house, I have never met them, and probably never will. But that's no reason to stop me transforming this lush and lovely garden oasis back into the garden it once was.
The elderly lady who used to own this house was a gifted horticulturalist, and designed (and maintained) this amazing outdoor space. A few weeks ago I was working in the front garden (link below) but now its time to delve (once again) into the back yard. How much will I be able to get done?

What a delightful garden this dear lady left as a legacy. As a gardener, I can feel the joy and peace she could experience while spending her hours, days, weeks, months and years while cultivating the garden. And now, you are a part of her legacy too, Martin...a part of her story. I can feel the care and joy you feel as you restore the lovely lady's pride and joy. It is wonderful to see your skill and attention to details. 🌸🌼🌺 The new family moving in will get a lovely gift of this lady's garden...and your legacy too. How wonderful to be a part of that. Thank you.

Once again, wonderful job in a garden I recognized right away. When I saw the horsetail, I thought of my ornamental patch that was invaded for years, I got rid of it last year by digging the patch and exposing the rizomes to the sun... It seems that dandelions are good in salads but never tried them, instead, I chase them as well (we got lots of them in the garden this year). As for the rest of the weeds and many plants, I don't remember their name but for sure, my Belgian garden has its share of these. The roses are beautiful and remind me of taking care of them when I'll get back home from my sunny island. My son and his girlfriend live in the house and are supposed to tidy up the garden. Fingers crossed for next Saturday to check and see if the results are as stunning as yours ;)

HI just found your channel and I've been binge watching. So pleased to find someone doing 'proper' English gardens. and doing them well. Have been watching a lot of the US/Aus garden makeovers (just grass!) at the end they seem to spend a little longer on the before/after shots. It really makes one appreciated what a transformation took place. Just a suggestion maybe you could slow those down a little? I recognized the elder flower bush at the beginning, lovely you kept some flowers on it. And fire thorn on the side, lavender, the horrible weed Wood horsetail, euphorbia with the yellow flowers. That nasty tall grass you was pulling out in the garden bed around the roses, that’s such a pest, it’s taking over half of my front garden beds and I don’t know what to do. Pulling it only made it multiply. So now I cut it short.

Agree about the long grass, it seeds so quickly that even if you pull it out you've probably missed your chance. Much persistence should work though. Or just turn wherever it's growing into a lawn area 😂
