Part one of my Northwest trip 2016. Please watch in 1080pHD!
Here is a small company run by the Seattle Housing Authority (SHA), otherwise known as Impact Property Services. They service various HOAs throughout the Seattle Metro area, and run some pretty neat trucks. First is a diesel CCC Heil PowerTrak Rear Loader with Tom manually dumping 32 Cascades, Schaefers, and a few manual bins. The truck had a nice little growl to it and now and then blew a little smoke. Very nice guy who Alan reunited with and who finished his route quickly and thoroughly.
Next up is a truck that caught both Alan and me by complete surprise. As we were walking back to the car, after the red PowerTrak we saw an International D4700 Heil 4000 heading just our way! We literally stopped mid step, and booked it down the street after it. We were fortunate enough to watch it dump a dumpster and 3 semi-commercial recycling containers. Alan knew Impact had this truck at one point in time, but had no clue they still used it. As he said, "probably the oldest truck still running in Seattle". Can't really get more classic than this considering how modernized Seattle's refuse trucks have become.
Unfortunately (the one day I was there), the Heil Formula 4060/ Split Body Rear Loader's hydraulics had broken down the previous day, leaving the drivers to resort to using both PowerTrak and may also have been the reason why the International was taken out.
