To me, nobody ever even got close to the raw intensity of Marissa and Shirley in this song.

Up till I saw this I thought the best cover was Gretchen Wilson and Alice in Chains version of hearts barracuda. I've changed my mind. I cannot stop watching this video. Just a thought from a very old rock guy.

my then wife bought two tickets for them as a birthday present (she had her moments ;) and after a couple of classics shirley to the forefront of the stage holding hands with marissa (whom i hadn't heard of at the time) and talke about the Screaming Females and how Marissa was like her little sister and we could tell she was totally sincere, and we watched this petite woman grab a guitar taller than her...and such a sound, such a shredding solo came out of the speakers it was difficult to believe it was cute little marissa who made it...SHE AND shirley are tw forces of nature, and long live Garbage for using their aura to help other bands...that is really something more older and better know bands should do....

Yup. Sure. I've trucked all over. Never heard this cover, and I do a LOT of radio. Maybe on NPR? In a college town? Oh, it's okay, I guess. Here's one to find: an awesome blues cover of Pusherman. You know NPR, they tell you what's gonna be playing. Then 8 songs later, they tell you what's going to be NEXT. Any help out there?

I am 65 and I grew up listening to Springsteen and Smith do their versions of this. I’ll admit to never having heard of Garbage and Screaming Eagles until this appeared in my You Tube queue. If the number of views doubles in the next few weeks, that will be my doing. The torch has passed, and it burns brighter than ever thanks to the talents of Marissa and Shirley.

Mine too. So far 10 times since going to cat power, garbage and Alannis Morsette concert ! The ladies rocked it all night and so did the band with perfect instruments with the awesome vocals. Best concert I have been to in years.

Hands down the best version of this song I've ever heard. And I've seen 10,000 Maniacs perform it live. Shirley's vocals are fantastic! But Marissa's guitar is the highlight. She just fucking shreds! Especially on her solo. Fucking amazing!

A bit self-serving, but I have a version of Screaming Females cover of "Shake it off" on my channel. About two-thirds of the way through at the "You could be getting down to this sick beat" Marissa goes off for about two bars, then shuts it down with just enough shredding to make it distinctly theirs.

This song is an elemental force. Mainly because of Shirley's voice and Marissa's absolutely awesome and snotty guitar. I love these two.

Holy SSSSS. First there is no one else like Shirley & Garbage, but that solo holds up to anything I have heard in years. Just a stream of metal consciousness. This is to be turned up to 11................

Shirley Manson - greatly under-appreciated performer. Not just her singing and phrasing (so economical, never over-dramatic) but the way she moves as she sings - hard to describe, loose-limbed, effortless and perfectly in time with the players.

I love Lenny Kaye but that solo takes it to another level.

Classic song. Has been covered a few times. Screaming Females really shredded it up really nicely. Shirley sounds great as always.

How have I not seen this in 11 frickin years?! That was awesome!

We all knew Shirley Manson was a badass, but that little girl who looks like she still delivers papers after school gave as much a performance as one of the most incredible singers I've ever seen. And a mighty fine guitar player as well.

Still my favorite cover of this song. There's so much to be said for two strong vocalists coming together.
