started listening to garbage in 1998 when version 2.0 first came out. I never stopped.i just turned 40. songs are still great i just relate in a different way. Shirley Manson was my first girl crush.

I feel like this song is the culprit of Shirley's appreciation for Siouxsie as a creative force and an idol, and this is so beautiful.

I've listened to this song by Siouxsie and the Banshees so many times. It's one of my favourites. I'm so glad they took it in the direction they did! It has added another dimension to it, darker, weirder, harder. Very Depeche Mode. This will be on regular rotation for quite some time. Garbage, I love what you've been doing! I think Siouxsie would be proud.

You know when you rediscover a band you've always loved, and never stopped loving, but you just kind of drifted away from? Well, recently I've been rediscovering Talking Heads and Siouxie and the Banshees. Then, last night I was driving home after seeing a movie and "Cities in Dust" was the last song I listened to and when I woke up this morning, the first thing I saw was an article saying that Garbage covered the song! What a great cover!

It's always a treat when one amazing band covers the song of another amazing band.

One legendary female musician truly honoring another legendary female musician. For a guy like me, it doesn't get much better than this.

This is AMAZING!!!! One of my favorite songs of all time, remade by the best band ever!!! Can't wait for back to back Florida shows!!!!

What an unexpected gorgeous surprise

I totally LOVE this band, I think it is fantastic how Shirley Manson has been able to transcend her painful past and has become a global superstar. I loved listening to her voice in my late teens with the early work like You Look So Fine or Cherry Lips, Only Happy When It Rains, I had a tough childhood and I felt like it seemed she understood tough issues too. You go girl!

Garbage is like wine. They get better and better with age! Her voice is... so... hauntingly epic!

Holy shit...ever come across something you didn't realize you needed? Why did it never occur to me that a Siouxsie cover by Garbage would be like watching a new production of a classic opera? Thank you and congrats, all!

Can you imagine if it wasn't good? I mean, Siouxsie is Shirley's biggest influence, and with good reason. But if she couldn't do a proper cover, then who could?

I was just listening this song HOURS ago and now my favourite band covers it?? It's too good to be truth.

Love Garbage to bits and this cover is great but The Banshees' version is always my favorite. When I saw them in concert in 1986 Siouxsie took the stage singing this wearing a Julie Newmar style Catwoman mask it was awesome and that song just thundered on and on it was fabulous I will never forget it as long as I live!

Shirley Manson’s voice still makes this classic track her own with creative control to how she says the lyrics, but in her own signature way, pacing and delivery. It has a modern rawness to her voice and imperfectness that makes it perfect as this is definitely a somber track with glimpses of energy.

No one else could have done this so well.

I am extremely in love with the evolution Garbage is going through as a band, it never gets old, never goes far away from what we know from them, but always know how to surprise us. Check out the original and read the lyrics. It's about Pompei being destroyed by Mt Vesuvius. It's an amazing classic, and Garbage does it justice.

This is such a great cover. You know it's a great cover when you can love both the original and the cover, but enjoy different aspects of each.

Just imagine Garbage opening for Siouxsie and they both sing Cities in Dust. This is not only a great cover, but something more. Shirley often says just how massive an inspiration Siouxsie is to her She clearly put all of her skills in this song to pay proper homage to Siouxsie and celebrate the fact she has returned to tour again this year. It's beautiful and it makes me feel like I'm a bad Siouxsie fan for not being able to do anything like that.
