Greetings from Ireland Pete, and just a quick note of gratitude, for the virtual hand-holding through the entire GarageBand recording, mixing, mastering and releasing process. I had collection of songs in my head for years and played in covers bands in Ireland & UK since the 80s, but was daunted by more detailed aspects of GarageBand since starting working with it in early 2020. However, your easily understandable tutorials were a great help and, in with greater spare time in the current lockdown, I’ve just uploaded by album for release. Thanks again, Pete. Stay safe..... Fantastic GarageBand video thanks mate 👍 In the late 80s I was part owner of a 4 track recorder that used compact cassettes, the band I was in bought it so we could record jam sessions and make demo tapes, things have changed so much 😂 Eventually I kind of stopped making music and only occasionally picked up a guitar to noodle around or jam along to something. I never even looked at GarageBand until recently after one of your videos came up in my feed. I started playing with the beat sequencer on my iPad and remembered I had an old iRig thingy that connects guitar through the iPad earphone socket. I dug that out and started making tracks using the virtual instruments in GarageBand and real guitars. Now I’m hooked and thinking about picking up a MIDI keyboard and proper audio interface for external instruments/mic. I owe you a big thanks for getting me back into making music and helping me learn how to use GarageBand 🙏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

WOW! Awesome! I’m going to learn how to use this or probably should say these tools within Garage Band, Garage Band being the toolbox, but aw, I’m getting back into playing & writing again after being away from the joy of music. I’m not alone in this as I’ve found that my lack of devotion allowed for the cares of this life, work, relationships, family & such we overloaded ourselves with when we were young caused many of us to lay down instruments we loved playing & became good little boys & girls conforming to the perceived average workweek family functions attending enormous numbers of events that ate up more hours of each week, month, & years that while much satisfaction, still the tail was wagging the old dog.😝😵💫It was stupid of me to lay down the electric guitar. I’ll stop before I crank up an old man rant. I digress. I’m thankful that I happened to find your platform. I need to learn how to use these fantastic resources that’s available now days & you Sir are going to be my Teacher.👍Thank You! Cya

Have you got any tips for “punching in” recording live bass and one bar in the middle is a bit iffy for timing. Need to just replace the one or 2 bars but keep the sustain and flow smooth, so it doesn’t sound like it’s overdubbed. Using IPhone for this (iOS 12. ) not sure if it’s got multiple take feature or if it has if you can use the best bit from both takes and Marge them. All the best
