Sears Craftsman LiftMaster ½ hp garage door opener is making noise but doesn’t move, so we’re going to replace the gear sprocket assembly. If your garage door is making a loud noise but isn’t working, this is a DIY solution so you don’t have to replace the entire opener. I’ll walk you through how to replace the gear and sprocket in your garage door. Sprocket replacement is messy, but if you have a Chamberlain or LiftMaster opener, this solution will work. This solution also works if you have a broken garage door gear sprocket.
