Cool demo- review. Very nice singing btw. I have a love- hate relationship with ribbon mics but GOlden Edge might be a nice addition to any mic closet

Ribbons definitely has it's place. For drums it's a given but it works great on pretty much anything you use it on. Thanks for watching 🙏

Great video as always i think people don't recognize the versatility that a ribbon mic offers that if used along side a dynamic mic or good condenser mic it can add some smooth bottom end and give your mix some body good job GAP👏

Thanks! Yeah exactly. I mean for this video I wanted to demonstrate the R1A but in a real tracking scenario I would prob use an SDC along side the ribbon. Great combo! Thanks for watching ✌️

Thanks, yeah I wouldn't typically use a ribbon on vocals. Check out my Sandhill 6019a video that was also quite special. A bit more delicate while the R1A has a bit more balls 😁

Hello Chistian - thanks for a very good demo. Around 9.30 you mention that you pushed your vocal 4db . . but I can't quite grasp whith what VST insert or . . you mention. Also the reverb used in the mix is of interest to me (if its not top secret ha-ha) as both per- formance and the mix was an is outstanding good experience. Thank's again

Hey thanks for watching! For reverbs I'm usually using Valhalla which is great. Relab 480 is great too and actually waves CLA vocals have some good reverbs 😊

Out of those three, I'd lean to the R1 Mk3 -- I guess that's the one in this video. At first, I wasn't impressed, while watching... because the first price I found was very high. But when I see how affordable it actually is (elsewhere), I am impressed. I am a huge fan of ribbon mics in general.
