A highlight reel video of my June 2016 trip to Gangler's Maria Lake mini lodge in far northern Manitoba. We lost a day and a half at the start of our trip because of bad weather - we couldn't fly in. Even so my group of four set a camp record for the number of master angler pike caught. Forty two in total! It was easily some of the finest trophy northern fishing I've ever experienced! Lake trout were incredibly abundant with the vast majority being in the 5-10 pound range. We saw some monsters, but couldn't get them to commit. Nevertheless the big trout are there!
All in all it was a fantastic experience and Gangler's lived up to their reputation as being one of Canada's premier outfitters!

Always. Those fish are far too valuable a resource to kill.

here in ireland we have a problem with eastern european killing everything they catch so you never see big pike anymore

Sorry to hear! Our more urban areas here in Canada have a similar fate. Fortunately there are vast areas of roadless wilderness in the north that sees very little pressure. There's tons of big fish if you're willing to travel to get to them.
