Performing public carnival gandrung dances held by Gebang Village, Patrang District, Jember Regency on Saturday 2 September 2023.
This gandrung dance can be said to be spectacular, namely dancing for around 4 hours and the stage is quite long with a distance of around 4 km, this dance is quite lively and full of enthusiasm.
The street performance starts from the west of Jalan Ylang to the north of Jalan Manggar.
Throughout this street performance, there were lots of spectators who were enthusiastic enough to see the dancers directly performing this quite popular gandrung dance.
Gandrung dance is actually a typical dance from the Banyuwangi area.
With this increasingly global civilization, many people from one area have moved or settled in other areas, including many people from Banyuwangi who live in Jember.
So it is no longer surprising that this gandrung dance from Banyuwangi is quite popular in Jember.
The dancers wear special gandrung dance costumes with red sampur, black costumes decorated with golden knick-knacks, jarik or long cloth for red bottoms and white socks plus dominant red oprok with gold color accompanied by sunggar decorations to create the dancer's appearance. Infatuated looks perfect, more attractive and cool.
They appeared to dance along the street stage with enthusiasm even though the air temperature during the day was quite hot, but this did not weaken the enthusiasm of these infatuated dancers.
This event started precisely when the group of crazy dances started walking at around 12 noon and ended at the finish line at around 4 in the afternoon.
