It was possible with A12X since 2018 Everyone keeps saying they're blown away by M1 but A12X was a far more impressive chip for it's time. In GPU M1 is only 30% faster than A12X

@@OrangeRock This.... keep in mind, GTA 5 can even run on the Nintendo Switch which is far less powerful than the Apple M1 iPad Pro. Granted, I’d still use the Switch any day for gaming purposes. Would be cool to see Apple enter the gaming market at some point

Keep in mind that when the 2018 iPad Pro was released, everyone was salty because iOS on the iPad didn’t have proper multitasking support and etc. to take advantage of the power of the A12X chip until they debut iPadOS in WWDC. I believe that the same thing is gonna happen here. There’s going to be a huge iPadOS update that will be designed to take advantage of the M1 in the iPad Pros.

The screen size is not the only physical difference the bigger model has a mini LED display meaning it is significantly more color accurate and brighter so if you also plan on doing professional video or photo editing go for the 12.9

What about pubg and codm will there be any difference? Even if it’s slightly? Will the ipad pro 2021 be able to be faster than 2020 version for gaming even if slightly? Edit: I read online that the ipad pro 2021 may give you faster frame rate and faster refresh which will help alot for competitive games

I have purchased iPad Pro 2021 yesterday and I can say u pubg graphics are terrible and worst compared to 2020 iPad Pro 4th generation iPad Pro graphics is the best than 2021 iPad Pro m1 chip ..in pub g everything seems zoomed in and blurry screen ..I have bought both 12.9 and 11 inch and tested both the devices pub g graphics are terrible .

Right I just bought it. Can't wait for the new cuz of clients. But might consider if this new thing could run some professional mac graphic softwares and some real console gaming that XDR is all I wanted but not seeing to get attracted with mini LEDs, been using amoled but got used to my ipp. But I've been thinking apps coming from mac are going to be just "ported" I guess. MacOS don't have any problem running Ipad apps (unless allowed by dev to be available for IPad only) because it has the requirement. The same thing or code that ipad has. But in the other side. IpadOS doesn't have MacOS code. Simply put, Touch are for touches. You could miss some shortcut gestures with finger taps from IpadOS. They are different I am not going to go further. But maybe they would do it but They just can't put away IpadOS by putting macOS. By doing this they arr not going to take macbook away LOL never! But there is some possibilities, a total new way/part of their ecosystem. Total crossover EPIC! Their hardware is too ahead of its time. Softwares can't catch up. Semi desktop build for the new ipad os 14 with magic keyboard and mouse. We don't have some real pointer lasso tool yet that could benefit from mouse controls, or games that fully support controls from keyboard. Devs needs time.

You should keep that for at least another 2 years before upgrading! Upgrading a year after a big purchase is insane to me, even as an employed adult, regardless of features 😂

There is NO getting around it now. The talks will inevitably be focused on needing a iPadOS/MacOS hybrid OS to take advantage of all that power. NO switching, transforming modes or bootcamp. They only make things too clunky and complicated, compromising the simplicity and ease of use of the iPad. Windows tried that with Windows 8 and Samsung Dex is a mobile OS dressed up to look like a desktop OS. Apple MUST tackle the very difficult challenge of making a seamless OS (iPadOS) to be as simple and easy to use, while making is as powerful and feature rich as MacOS. The best of both worlds in one. Aside from all the other implications, gaming may MIGHT be on the level of Xbox One and PS4 consoles...of course you will still need the games, but I am hopeful I can one day play Star Craft 2 Streetfighter 5 Diablo 3/4 etc on an iPad.

🤦🙄 So eight year old hardware WOW. That's so great let me drop what I'm doing and spend money on tech that's eight years behinds PS5, Xbox series X/S and PCs from 2019 to 2021.

Currently, there is no app that can outrun iPad Pro 2018/2020. The latest gen of iPad Pro is still over-kill. The last thing left is how iPadOS unleashes the power of the M1 chip.

So I need 1tb model (16 gb) if I wanna use it for editing... Damn that makes it almost too expensive... At that price I can get a regular air with its pencil and a mac mini combo

@@ludicrous7376 You are wrong. Apple SSD is not the fastest. It is not using PCIE 4.0 bandwidth. Fastest SSD is about 8000MB Read and Write. Apple just use average NVME SSD which speed about 3000MB Read, 2500MB Write.

@@KelvinKMS Dude, we are talking about a mobile fanless 6.4mm thin tablet. What Android tablets do you know that have gen 4 ssds? Also, the OP was right, apple traditionally uses the fastest ssds, if you judge by the last decade, especially starting the SSD trend with the macbook air. pcie gen 4 ssds are extremely recent. literally the first dropping late last year (2020)...Most Pcs/laptops/consoles don't have or support them.....the PS5 is literally the only console to support gen 4 ssds.....recent 2021 intel h series laptops launched recently are the only laptops to have them. They would have gotten gen 4 speeds, if they stuck with intel. Also Pcie gen 4 controllers use way too much power and generate a lot of heat, so apple might wait or jump straight to Gen 5 in a few years. The M1 is literally their first chip.....just to showcase and beta test their apple silicon..........Apple will definitely use fast gen 4/5 ssds by the end of their transition , maybe starting with the M2/M2X.

I just ordered mine cannot wait for it !

I’m planning to get the 12.9 but I’m STILL not sure if I should get the 8gb 256GB or 16gb 1TB! I have the money for the upgrade but obviously we don’t know what Apple has in store for future gaming apps to take advantage of the 16gb of memory. Should I save my money or just go for the 16gb? If you have the money and don’t really care about minor updates from now on (m2, m3.. the 16 will be future proof), so get the 16gb 1tb! I will be getting 11’ with 128gb because for me that’s totally enough. Had 2 iPads and I’m a artist but I prefer to use iCloud and pay monthly less than what I would pay for a 1tb version.. I’m gonna get in another country because in Brazil it’s 2x expensive!

Wait after WWDC on June 7 then think again.😂😂😂 or just buy PS5 and game titles and big OLED TV with 120hz VRR, low latency, and more...(panasonic oled tv is the most color accurate as tested by HDTVtest...2nd is Sony OLED TV....but LG OLED has better features for gaming but not color accurate and not that great in near black handling like Panasonic and Sony do with their processors for image processing)

I’m gong for the 1T just for the sake of Ram .

I've been wishing for better combat flight sims on mobile for years. All of this power and its only good combat flight sim right now is Carrier Landing HD. It has amazing physics, but it still lacks content. I would love to see War Thunder ported to iPads, fully cross-platform and all the same content as on PC and console. I want to see how older PC combat flight sims run on this in UTM. Maybe even bring Parallels Desktop to iPadOS, so I can play IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 with a USB-C hub and joystick on it.

Which will have better gaming performance? Top line M1 iPad Pro or top line M1 MacBook Air? Owner of a 16 GB 8 GPU core MacBook Air asking.

The smaller iPad Pro M1 proves that the Mac mini is over priced by a lot. If Apple makes the iPad able to run Mac OS apps, then I would prefer to buy the smaller iPad M1 than the Mac mini. I would plug a keyboard, a mouse and an external monitor and use the iPad as a Magic Trackpad.

But with the magic keyboard, it could also make it more expensive. 3 parties maybe much more cheaper yes. But macos have a lot of professional apps and amazing games now. Professional apps with more tools. There is some possibilities, whats the point of putting M1 in the Ipad if they're not going to squeeze its full potential. But they could still make it as an overkill for IpadOS with just ported apps not original mac os app. Codes are totally different with macos and ipados, they really should port it in the first place. Cuz with ipados it it meant for touch. Apps their made some useful fonger tap gestures. Possible two way boot for the ipad, could either boot into macOS or into IpadOS LOL let's wish somedy this could become true. This could make macbook not a way to go anymore. Why you need it when you have the better Ipad. Well not anymore, They could still make people buy macbooks by putting newer chips like the m1x before putting it into an IPP in the next year or so. People get excited about something faster and new. 2018 ipp a12x is still a gem and a almost overkill for the Ipad. And a little more improvement for the 2020 a12z. I am not being hypocrite tho, If I have fhe money, I would take the best possible device for my professional needs. btw I own a ipp 11 2020 my god it is expensive for my living. Just badly needed it for my clients.

Really informative as usual. I do believe that swappable memory could easily be added as an OS update. It basically is just a fancy word for a paging file. Given how the new m1 ipads will have a storage speed bump (which is very important if we are talking about paging files) it might work really well. Honestly apple would be dumb not implementing it in iPad OS since they are just gimping the performance of their own chip. For anyome wondering a paging file or swappable memory is just virtual memory creating by the OS allocating a certain amount of storage space dynamically to fit needs. The faster the storage the better since it can never really mach the speed of actual integrated physical memory. It is mainly used to store data that doesnt need to be immediately available for the cpu

@@DanielDuedu I doubt reviews will be saying anything useful as there are no games to test it on even Genshin impact runs at 60 fps constantly on A12X. Maybe if we had fortnite we would've seen some difference but that's long gone so I guess we will be comparing GPU & CPU usage. If we compare MacBook M1 to A12X in Gfxbench it's pretty close and M1 to A12Z is even closer. M1 is mainly quite a bit faster on the CPU side of things but GPU it's not much.

I might have a few games that may put the M1 iPad Pro to the test. There's an upcoming game that's like War Thunder jets called Air Combat Legends. It's only in a TestFlight beta though. That game brought my 2017 iPad Pro to its knees. Even with significantly lowered graphics, it still went down from 60fps to ~50fps due to throttling. I had a pretty high graphics preset, and I went down to 20-30fps. Even the 2018 and 2020 iPad Pros would probably still be pushed hard with similar graphics presets. I haven't even tried to max out everything on it, so I do hope it puts the M1 iPad Pro to the challenge. Crash Dive 2, which is the best submarine game and the closest to Silent Hunter games on mobile, throttled my iPad Pro 2nd gen at 16x and 32x time compression. I could test running 32x time compression straight for 10 minutes or more if it still causes framerate drops on the M1.

@@agsechogd6406 watch ''Developers, Meet the new iPad pro'' commercial. You'll see something about gaming that's new for tablets. I'm not sure. There must be a purpose for that 16GB RAM esp handling the bigger storage and editting while using external harddrive. I hope Apple focus on AAA games.

4:42 Also the new NBA 2K21 supported on Apple TV 4K, it said could detect that rumble controller. I have the Steeleseries Nimbus which don’t have that. 6:42 this where I’m piss at apple the Apple only has 64GB still. This show apple not taking gaming serious. the NBA game took up a lot space, had to delete 3 game to make room for it.

If the 2021 model is 75% faster gpu and 11 inch has that mini led then i would upgrade from 2020 to 2021 . . I will just wait for next ipad pro that has a much better gpu . I really dont need that m1 chip since my purpose is only for gaming mostly games from apple arcade

Gta 5 can literally be ported to ipad pro now if u have the 16GB ram model. Its insane that ipad has more ram than ps4 and xbox one lol and equal ram to ps5 and XSX sure the GPU is quite weak still BUT it has literally double the GPU power that nitendo switch has and we all know what AAA games that can run so yeah the ipad is literally the ultimate multimedia device right now

🤦 Dude the Xbox one and PS4 are 8 years old hardware. You are happy about being more powerful then eight year old hardware. Jeez my PC is more powerful the the PS2 and first Xbox. Oh wait it should be its newer hardware.

While the New IPad Pro 2021 is ahead of the curve in future proof technology, The highest Ram usage for a game is currently 3GB and the only iOS game to use 3GB is PS4s Xcom 2 Collection released in Nov 2020 by Feral Interactive. The highest ram capacity in the iPad Pro 2021 is 16GB, which I doubt we will see on any games anytime soon but if developers made IPad Pro specific mobile/console games to use that high ram alongside a massively downgraded or non-existent iPhone equivalent game port..at least for minimum 8GB ram we’ll see in some IPhone in 2022 or all iPhones in 2023, I can see IPad Pro killing the IPhone in AAA Gameplay/Graphics comparable to relative consoles/PCS like the PS5/PS6 for the next 10 years until 2030 for some 16GB iphones or until 2031 for all 16GB iPhones Also it seems iOS is only one-two generations behind current consoles graphically, seeing as how the PS3 games ported to IOS-Tropico, The Last Remnant and Grid: Autosport- look exactly like the PS3 version. Not bad for IOS when it debuted in 2007 one year after the PS3 and now hopefully Hitman: Absolution comes to IOS

We will need 16GB RAM if new iPad Pro can run MacOS, we can run a lot of apps at same time without clean or pause your apps or games.

😂 life after by netease is 10.57 gigs and after update on may 20 2021 it will be 11 gb on Android

This is a tablet than can play wii games at 4K, emulate Wii U, and probably switch. And it can also play pc games. All it needs is a dual boot option for Mac OS. Rip android tablets, you will be missed.

Dual boot is not likely to happen. I don't think Apple like that kind of behaviour. But maybe someone could put Parallel on it!

If Citra was on iOS, fully and natively supporting Metal, there would be no better device to emulate 3DS on than this iPad Pro. If it ran Android, it would destroy everything else in Egg NS. It will outperform everything in DamonPS2 Pro. TechUtopia would be so proud of this.

Android tablets are already irrelevant with the release of x86 based MS surface 2in 1 tablets. An ipad that runs on macOS will make android tablets completely obsolete. All those m1 power is wasted on ios. Make it macOS.

The day iPad runs Mac Os I might then consider it exists . I have to be really stupid to buy a 2000 dollar iPad with ios

Apple needs to make a gaming tablet with their most powerful m1 chip. Apple sales will increase by 220%

Why we should spend 2000$ for future proof gaming just on ipad ...we can buy 1000$ laptop and stil we left with half of money...

If they make a virtual box to load windows 10 or Mac OS, I’ll sell my gaming PC
