West of Loathing is definitely a game that takes the piss. It never takes itself seriously, you're raiding "Soup mines", you literally find needles in haystacks, you don't have "Charisma" you have "Hornswogglin"... Etc etc. Very non-serious game, also very fun

In my opinion GW2 upped the piss taking, the original felt a lot more gritty, and while it was obviously not taking itself too seriously, I feel that they intended it to be more serious. The sequel just threw the grittiness out the window, and I love it for that. Also, great video, I genuinely thought I was clicking on a mid-large sized channel until I checked the view count, hope you get big some day dude!

I think I still prefer gw1, because on the surface it looked so much more serious, but that's where it ended, it felt like it was actively parodying shooters of the time with the realistic graphics and war theme, but the actual game was anything but serious, I just love that contrast and I feel like gw2 didn't quite achieve that, it went too much on the goofy science fiction aspect without the grounded contrast that was present since pvz1, still a fantastic game of course, I love both gw games to death.

Unpopular. You mean they were unpopular, underplayed. They were rated pretty highly by just about everyone who played them. If public opinion was negative it'd make sense to call them underrated, but it isn't by any measure.

I remember my brother getting it back in 2018 but I didn’t start playing it until 2020 and was obsessed with it ever since.

Now dont get me wrong, I absolutely love GW 2 and don't wanna say bad things about it, but that feeling of not being serious can fade very quickly when you spot a no plate sweating his cheeks off with his goddamn mastered E-Pea or Z7 Imp

I think every fps game have this issue with "not balanced character/weapon"

Garden Warfare was what my childhood was, with Minecraft Legacy Edition on the PS3. I would always get on and have lots of fun playing with all of the fun and wacky characters like Foot Soldier or Foot Soldier (I didn't have much gameplay variety as a dumb stupid 10 yr old). Getting Garden Warfare 2 on my PS4 and eventually PS5 was definitely something I needed. I still play Garden Warfare 1 occasionally, but right now I'm working on grinding towards Max Rank in Garden Warfare 2 (LV5545). The game is both fun for both the casual and competitive natures. Except for Wall-Nut Hills, nobody likes Wall-Nut Hills.

I'll eventually get my way to max rank but I'm more focused on achievement hunting so that's my main goal. Minecraft and PvZ GW are two games that definitely defined me as a person, and I can't relate more to the foot soldier playing lmao he's easily the best character on the zombie side and was perfect as a kid

@@Nxcturnalll Yeah heh. On the topic of achievements, you can get all of the achievements on GW1 but not GW2. Most of the achievements that were added in the Trials of Gnomus update are now impossible to obtain. Mainly because certain events no longer run as of a few years ago. Community Challenges no longer appear (2 Achievements), and the Mystery Portal Events no longer show Cats vs Dinos (2) nor Boss Hunts (3). On PlayStation you can still earn the Platinum Trophy for just completing the main game trophies, I'm unsure of other versions other than PC. For PC you have to use mods to load in those events in Private Play.

@@UmbreonBoi yea I've seen videos about how broken the achievements are which is kind of sad. I do cheat achievements in though if they're either unobtainable or glitched so its not too big of an issue just kinda sad how its locked away

Dude comedic games are one of my favourite genres. The last types of these games I ever played was high on life and it went hard. I’d play the PvZ shooters nonstop years ago and back on the PS3, I remember replaying rayman origins 4 or 5 times more than legends.

I feel like a game that you'd like is Deep Rock Galactic,a game that follows L4D2's steps but with dwarves,bugs and beer,the community is very nice and welcoming,I honestly got surprised until I remembered that it was just how fandoms should behave(you can still find some leaf lovers,but they're the minority).

Great video! I believe Duck Game fits this category and definitely deserves more attention, unironically one of the most underrated games I know of and one of my favorites. Also, I believe the Behemoth Games like BattleBlock Theater and Castle Crashers need no introduction.

It's good that we still have those indie games that are both great and original, unlike most AAA games these days

Well, after commenting on your Sunset Overdrive video, and leaving a comment about how "GW2 makes GW look like you were using preset uniforms," seeing that GW2 was your ur-example, well, don't I look like a fool. Well, close enough to one. I'm just glad to hear GW2 getting a shout out. I really need to see one day if the horde mode still has players. I'd only picked up the first game for the XbOne because I found it cheap used, and I was hooked then. When I found out they were releasing a sequel, I was an early adopter (but not pre-order) for it.

This was a blast from the past! I love the Plants Vs Zombies franchise. Great video! One game I think takes the piss but also has surprising depth to it is Deep Rock Galactic. You can find funny moments compilations all over the place. Even I’ve made one.

GW2 and GW1 are really great games and is my fav. I love playing them too.

i’m so happy we’re on the same page for PvZ, it’s been my favourite franchise ever since i was little and booted up the game on the computer, when GW rolled around i was a bit skeptical but it was a very welcoming addition, GW2 is honestly my favourite in the franchise, the newest PvZ game that shall not be named and that i honestly want to forget shouldn’t be played after EA turned it into a grindy pay-to-win piece of corporate slop with little to no regard for the past two games

I think you should play: Patapon That whole series was my entire childhood and I loved every single day playing it If you want to play just for gameplay then play Patapon 2 first because it's easier for new players but if you're interested in story too and you like more challenge then go ahead with Patapon 1 I swear you will have a great time 😊 You just need a psp console or just get a PSP emulator ❤

Garden warfare is peak (we don't talk about neighbourville) The first game as a kid on the ps 3 was the only online game I had and it was goated. So much so that one of the main reasons I wanted and got the ps 4 was to be able to play GW 2. Of course when I got the console in the middle of january, the game was already there at the beginning od february. My first platinum and a game I alwasy come back to when the games I play suck.

PvZ GW2 has better gameplay by far. PvZ GW1 has better maps, cosmetics, general visuals, and a war vibe with the game taking itself way too seriously in a charming way. I mean both games take themselves seriously but the cosmetics in GW2 kinda ruin that vibe due to them being too goofy/cartoony as well as the maps being more cartoony, especially zombie side ones due to SO MUCH PURPLE. I love both games to death and I do prefer GW2 bcuz gameplay but GW1 does multiple things better than GW2 while GW2 does multiple things better than GW1
