Scottie been the best since day 1. Glad he's finally getting some shine.

I love your enthusiasm, brother. It's contagious. I agree. This is an absolute masterpiece. Not only a timeless one, but i feel like it will only grow over time. Steve Vai's contribution was perfect. It sounded like he was riding the waves of time with all those bends and whammy bar effects. Great reaction.

Scottie's on FIRE on this one. Traditional wailing guitar, percussive thumping, soulful bluesy licks... I don't think a band has ever had 2 guitarists as good as Scottie and Tim. Dragonforce, maybe, but I can only stomach so much of their corny lyrical content.

You should listen to more Finnish bands. Lots of crazy good guitar players there.

I had your exact same experience with this (apart from it being on your birthday, which, happy belated!). Polyphia is my favourite instrumental band. Steve Vai is my favourite guitarist of all time. And I also played the trumpet in high school (it's my favourite brass instrument still). What an absolutely incredible song. Thank you for your reaction!

This is the closest I thought I could touch music, just the textures and crispness of the song is perfect

Ego Death is the last song on the album, where the first track on the album is Genesis ft. Brasstracks (Ivan from Brasstracks was the one on the trumpet in Ego Death). They start the album with brass and end it with brass. Also makes me think the next music video will probably be for Genesis.

The crazy thing is that they're just as good if not better live. Especially Clay on the drums. I saw them in San Francisco not that long ago and they have this energy that they bring and how they play so flawlessly. It's really like you have some young gods standing in front of you.

After that overload of guitar technical prowess and tasteful melody then to end with that night cap of a Trumpet part, like dessert at the end of an amazing meal. I have listened to it several times per day since it came out.

My favorite part of this is when Clay plays cymbals over Scottie's more traditional rock solo. He accents so well it sounds like Scottie's pick attack on the strings. But it's Clay! They think of everything. Yea, Scottie is fantastic and love that they centered him more on this album with his playing and production skills.
