Great review. I needed to see the new folks learn the game and learn how to bluff the wolf role properly. At first I thought this game to be too chaotic with switching of roles, but now I see how it goes. Thanks

Looks like an INTERESTING game that I'm definitely going to need to get haha. The girl was a terrible liar though lol. She didn't try to convince anyone, or even ever defend her self. She just pointed fingers, and chocked when fingers were pointed back. Like for the third round I think it was she could have easily gotten the guy to her right killed early by asking how he was so sure there was a werewolf instead she randomly blamed Travis.

You gotta go into "options" and tick "lonewolf" option. This allows a single werewolf to view one middle card. This makes for a much better experience.

I adore it when this happens Dave is robber Bob is troublemaker Steve is werewolf Monty is anything at all Dave swaps himself and Steve and sees himself as a werewolf Bob swaps Dave and Steve to make everything the same The robber and troublemaker don't say what they did Dave and Steve both think they are werewolf...

I enjoyed this, I've been playing by the game for a few weeks and recently picked up the ONUW Daybreak version (more wolves) I recommend trying it out on your channel. People saying there is no strategy haven't understood the game, once you play a few more games you realise the benefits of lying even as a villager, you can often deduce you've changed character from how people act. So while the trouble maker can swap you can factor that in. As some people have noted there is a rule that a lone wolf can look at a Centre card.

I've yet to have a big enough group to play Ultimate Werewolf, and have only played Ultimate Werewolf Inquisition once since I just purchased it a few days ago. Now I'll have to acquire this one as well (and invite at least one person with a smart phone to use the app). It's so fast and the basic rules are simple enough that I feel it's a good way to introduce these kind of games to newcomers.

In that second game, from Dave's perspective, isn't the chance of there being a second villager pretty high? The chance of there being AT LEAST one villager is 100% from his perspective since he already knows he's a villager, so his role is no longer relevant to the probability. It doesn't make it less likely to have another villager, because his own role is already guaranteed. From then on, he's just calculating the chance of anyone else being a villager, given that the remaining 6 cards contain exactly 1 villager. Since that 1 remaining villager can be distributed to any of 3 players, there is a 1/6 chance x 3 players = 3/6, or 50%.

I really don't enjoy playing these hidden role games, with the exception of Battlestar Galactica. At least there's gameplay there. These always just turn into a "who knows how to lie about the included roles better" game. It's mildly more entertaining to watch, at least.

Still fun as hell watching you guys after all those years! ;) But as much as I appreciate Dave as a person who explains all the rules and teaches how to play, he is unfortunately a natural-born'spoiler' of the fun as it seems the others are clearly overwhelmed by his statements and/or conclusions. It doesn't mean it is something totally wrong, yet it looks like he thinks and sometimes makes decisions on behalf of the whole group and people almost ever resist. But that's just a minor thing, although quite vital for social games like this. However... did you notice, or this is only how I saw it, that he changed his approach so dramatically once he was (or he thought he was) a Werewolf? He was speaking about all but himself. Hilarious to watch! :)

Your 3rd game is a good example of why I don't care for this game. Dave tried really hard to convince people that he was the Troublemaker, thinking he was engineering a win for himself (a Werewolf), all the while actually hurting his own case, and engineering his own loss. Some people may enjoy that, but I'd find it super disappointing.

  • @richardjudd4558

To be honest the switcher roles are NOT needed. As you get 3 villager cards to replace unwanted cards. As, without the 3 villager cards you could still play a 10 player game with all of the special roles. But you can just replace the role-switching roles with Villagers (the Drunk, Troublemaker, Robber). Therefore, you could play games without any switching. It would make the game lose a certain aspect of it, but if you prefer not to have them you can.

What stops the doppelganger from claiming to be whichever team won? Also, if the doppelganger card got switched, someone else got the doppelganger right? So what is he supposed to be? Who is he doppelganging since he didn't know or picked someone to mimic?

  • @Debbiebabe69

    @Debbiebabe69

    2 жыл бұрын

If the doppelganger is swapped, at the 'reveal cards' phase the original doppelganger tells everyone what card he doppelganged, and the new doppelganger is treated as that role. If the original doppelganger was in the middle and therefore never doppelganged anyone (and got brought into play by the drunk, or if using roles from other games the witch, voodoolou, etc.) then the doppelganger becomes an ordinary villager. Of course honestly is needed here, there is always the possibility the doppelganger becomes, lets say, a villager, then is swapped with someone else, and its new player is hung, then the original player says he actually viewed a werewolf not a villager - but this is quite a moot point as ANYONE can cheat if they really want to, the robber for example could wake up and look at everyones cards while they are asleep before giving himself the wolf but claiming the seer for an easy solo win.

My advice: robber and troublemaker make a first game for beginners so difficult to like and understand! For beginners its better to play simple at first: Villigers, Werewolfs, Healer, Seer. Then you introduce the other characters after the players accomodate with the mechanics of the game. These are the logical steps to make for everyone New to the game.

Great video. This looks like an awful game. Little information about who you are, or who anyone else is, and very little way in the ability to corroborate. Even when corroboration happens, it can just be the werewolf playing the game. And to make matters worse, the best information results from giving yourself away as a result of being swapped into the werewolf position. How are you supposed to defend yourself when you don't know if you're the one causing havoc?

***** Loved mega64 and projared on it. Ross was a bit annoying though but good game when played with more people.

Stopped watching at 16 in. Would be much better if you all knew the rules to the game you are playing.

What did they do wrong? They looked like they all knew the rules fairly well.

This game is literally pointless. With the Robber and Troublemaker. There is no strategy. you win based on a random deal. There is no point. I don't get it.

With the robber and troublemaker they have some information. For an example the robber knows someone else becomes the robber. Also the troublemaker knows two players switched so if one was the werewolf then the other can rat him/her out!

The point is social-deduction. Plenty of reasons to not play it, but why not at least try before you say there isn't a point. I've introduced this game to friends on several occasions and we had a blast trying to find the werewolf. Besides, what you're also probably missing is that it's the werewolf vs the villagers mentality.

This is really bad. They don't even know the rules and the others don't even know how to play. Not enjoyable to watch.
