when i saw its behavior in game, like how it sulked away after you beat arven and penny, or how it reacts when you send out the loyal three. i immediately thought of a headcannon of Pecharunt isn’t exactly malevolent, but instead he’s really young and either does it to protect itself and/or it’s how it thinks friends are made. think about it this way, it may have seen people using/forcing pokemon for battle, maybe Pecharunt thought this is how people and pokemon became friends, so he took the loyal three and gave them to mochi to control them. Pecharunt may control people, but maybe it thinks that’s how a trainer/Pokémon relationship, the people actively controls the pokémon. like the way it controls people and acts how when it loses, it sulks the first time then gets upset at Nemona, much how many human trainers act when they lose.

Still doesn’t forgive it using The Loyal Three to steal the masks and killing Ogerpon’s friend. It did that out of pure envy of an actual friendship, whereas it only has slaves. When you battle Pecharunt with Ogerpon, Ogerpon screams at it angrily. Considering what the Loyal Three did under its control, Ogerpon looked like it wanted blood again.

I wonder what does it taste like… perhaps sweet, like all other Pecha Berries? Oh, don't worry, I'm just gonna take a lick of it… (or rather, my Lickitung will, since it's a Poison type.) EDIT: And speaking of Poison type, I just realized another cool detail about Pecharunt: A normal Pecha Berrie's purpose is battle is to heal the Pokemon from poison effect, whereas Pecharunt… does the exact opposite, by being a Poison type!

It's a gimmick that's based on the Dream Sync from Gen 5, where you could put your Pokémon asleep and interact with them in the Dream World. The Synchronization Machine basically has the thoughts of the trainer and Pokémon merge with one another temporarily. It's still a prototype, so it can only be used in the Terrarium. It's cool seeing what mons are fast or not.

I like that Pokémon events aren’t locked to a particular convention in Japan, or a method where you have to buy some code in a store that they can run out of. You buy the content online once and you can do so from around the world. This is how not to be west-blind. That said, I showed my dad a still image of Pecharunt outside its shell, and he described it as “inorganic”, thus neatly summarizing one of my biggest pet peeves of modern Pokémon designs. I also would have accepted “cartoonish” and “like someone chose a bunch of random parts out of a sack and put them together like a gender neutral potato person”. The color scheme does what it’s supposed to for the lore but ends up looking very unnatural.

@@DeVon675 look up the story of momotaro. its a fable involving a boy who was born inside a peach- hence the small samurai-like baby inside of pecharunts shell. its also a tale about how the boy travelled with a monkey, dog and pheasant (the loyal three) to take down an ogre (ogerpon). the kitakami storyline is essentially an inversion of the story of momotaro. as for the shell having eyes, thats because it seems to have a viewpoint/window inside the shell- thats the inner body's eyes peeking through.
