    Plastic purchases are a great choice. They say alot of the virus is spread through the poop, and drinking water. It only takes 1 bird to transfer it to the others. Sorry to hear about your birds brother, wish you the best of luck, and can't wait to see the new set up. Keep your head up and moving forward I know you will get it right, Peace brother 💯🙏🏼😀

    Funny I built one of my Lofts out of that same tin , 16 ft pieces I found in a dumpster. 🤣 Glad to see the hen is doing fine, you should get some nice babies out of her. Sorry to hear what your going through. Try torching your Loft with a Roofers Torch it works wonders. I can also get the pmv for you. A huge bottle for like a thousand birds 100 to 125 I have to ask a friend. I will have lots of pairs for you soon and young ones at the end of the season. I'm cutting my stock down drastically this year... Also, I dont know if after you feed your birds if you leave feed in your feeders? If you do that may be part of the problem. You basically have the same environment I have around my lofts and the field mice will destroy you. You may not see them but they're there. Once they urinate and leave droppings on that feed and the birds eat it, they will start dropping left and right. It happened to me ....One Love

    After seeing that sad video of the Tragic Lost of your Racers. Sorry to hear that. But glad to see you back into the Roosters and hens. Also getting your loft back ointo shape. Here is a tip since I had the same tragic happen to me. I used my Flooring Torch and gave it a nice "Heat Burn Kill"! I did use Bleach and sprayed the entire loft. Then Used my Torch. Then Bleached again. Remember to Quarantine all or any birds that is shipped to you. Try and find less people you get birds from. But always Quarantine before you introduce anewbird to your place Period. Carriers can be on Humans too that are also Hobbierts. BTW, when mentioned Torch the loft. I mean heat the walls, corners, perches and nest boxes if you have any. Not like Torch it to burn the wood black. LOL.. But heat the sucker to kill the remaining Live Virus. If you need some Good Rollers. I dont mind helping you out. I can breed some youngs. Quarantine the birds. Even is they come from Me. Keep us Posted.

    Hello. I just saw your video. Not sure how you feel about "culling", but that is always the best solution. I come from "chicken people" and we raised large flocks of gamefowl. Not commercial, but large for backyard breeders. One policy old chicken men used to have is don't mix differ types of fowl. Have chickens or pigeons. Don't have geese, ducks, chickens, pigeons, etc. There are too many different types of vaccines you'll have to buy and too many different types of pathologies you'll have to learn. Animals don't always "present" or look sick, as we humans do. An example is that you'll have to recognize the signs of avian influenza in; ducks, geese, pigeons, chickens, etc. They all present differently. For vector control, they all have different behaviors and finding how they are cross contaminating each other will drive you nuts. Again, cull. If you be vaccinate and still see sick individuals, cull these. They probably have weak immune systems to begin with. You should breed for health in all animals. For the chicken coops a good rule is "make the length of the pen, 2 times as long as the perch is high. You want to give them room to break their fall. They could develop bumble foot (look it up). Plastic perches are fine, but if you live in the parts of the country where it's cold, your birds could freeze their toes. I've know rooster men to put pieces of carpet around their perches, in freezing areas. Not sure how you'll do this for the pigeons.

    I found a guy that has a ton of that PBR Metal. He was selling it for like $3.00 a foot. I am sure Ican find more people that might be cheaper. About the Loft. Dont think you need to build full on walls to cover the frame. Keep the Loft Dry and well Ventilated. You have Chickens. I know a guy that has his loft built on a raised floor framed and wired 1"x 1: welded wire. And the Chickens for some reason scratch and clear the Droppings like 60% or more. I dont know what they do and just told me what ever they do is clearing his cleaning time about 40% less.

    Is there any market for game fowl?

  • @AdrianP_loft
    @AdrianP_loft4 жыл бұрын

    Too many birds doesn’t directly cause paratyphoid, what it does is cause stress in the loft and stressed birds can easily become sick even from the slightest change like adding even more birds. I’ve had sickness in my loft and lost over 90 percent of my birds with or without vaccines. I know the pain. If u plan on brining new birds. First remove any birds you have left and place them in a separate cage. Clean the loft and more importantly clean and disinfect the drinkers. Start slow maybe 10 pair. And trust me 20 birds will quickly become 60-80 by the end of the season. I feel horrible that you have to go through this but I can’t say I didn’t see it coming. And Im not saying that to be an asshole I just hope you understand what I’m trying to say. Never forget the golden rule when adding a new birds. Quarantine them for Atleast 2 weeks before introducing them into the loft.

I don't think ill start racing, but I do want a nice white flock and maybe some nice colors.
