My newest Gamecube portable. This one was made on commission so it is already sold! I'm already commissioned to make 1 more of these and I'll probably make more in the future.

    We need more people like him, there are "innovators" out there and they spend years on a phone and the best they got is a few ram and process in them, while we got this guy, that has a fully responsive portable version of a console, and has the capacity

    +Yeeguy123 To be honest, I'd prefer a normal gamecube controller. Don't get me wrong, I think this is amazing and really cool that he did that, but there's no L and R light-press, so you can't light-shield, and the x button is in a different place, so it could throw off your wavedashes, multishines, and even just normal jumps. Still really cool, though, I just think this system would work better with other gamecube games.

    An issue with this is that certain games use functions that require you to lightly press on L or R(such as Super Mario Sunshine), and because the L/R switches automatically press all the way down, that's kind of a problem...

    Spicy Kielbasa Nah but many people with the engineering mindset really don't give a shit about aesthetics. If the product works and will maintain reliability for a long time, that is good enough for them. They are about pragmatism. Of course, pragmatism doesn't sell, so artists need to be brought in on commercial projects. This guy is obviously functioning in the left hemisphere, but that doesn't make him less brilliant.

    To be honest with $1,000 being the base price I don't think many people will bite very well seeing how you can get a portable device (tablet, or phone) running a decent to moderately ok emulator for $50, or the fact that a Xbox One, and PS4 next generation based consoles are cheaper by hundreds of dollars it's not a "fair" price at all its out right joke

    1. to run a gamecube emulator on a device it has to be stronger than the gamecube. 2. if people want to buy these things, let them. dont hate them just because theyre buying a piece of work. its like i would hate those people who buy paintings for an insane price

  • @FrameEnderEnderNation

    Tanifu 1) You can get a mobile device running stronger hardware than a gamecube cheaper then $1,000 at the least with $50 to up to $200 I'd say and even then you're not just getting a gamecube emulator with those low prices but Gameboy, Nintendo 64, NES, PS1 may I go on 2) I never said I hated anyone who bought "these things" they can do just whatever they want its their freedom just I'm at least letting them know their options so if they wanted to they could choose something more affordable and in the end will award them more again its all up to them,, and I'm not hating them for their choice if anything I'm hating the distriputer.

  • @luxpulvis

    @luxpulvis

    Just saying... It's a prototype and it was made by hand not mass produced, so it is expected that the price is high for 1 or 2 devices because this system works almost like the GameCube system itself and I highly doubt an IPad is able to handle the graphics and the engine and if it can there is another problem... Memory because some roms can take up to like 1GB for example SSBM and still keep up with the same speed of a GameCube. But then there is one thing some people prefer than others is the buttons compared from a controller to the virtual gamepad. But honestly I might have to go with you a bit on emulators because the games can be run on systems like Xbox/360/1, Wii/U, PS/3/4 and on computers making GameCube games playable on most systems.

    +Dalgreth exactly, once you're able to produce like 5 in a week, you can vastly lower the price and start selling them on small scale. this being a prototype, there's alot of trial and error, alot of research and testing. but once thats all out of the way , the qote "30+ hours" could be cut back to at most 10. I understand the process of building one of these and if you get a mass produceable method, its super easy to stick with that and crank these things out

  • @izy409

    @izy409

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Dalgreth exactly also just the hardware to build it would cost somewhere in the ballpark of $80 (much less if he ordered directly from the manufacturer in bulk). If all you are doing is running a bare bones Linux install and a Game Cube emulator the processing power required isn't that high. I don't know where he is getting $300 as the price for the parts.

  • @Cutiepuffle

    +AV Steve $1000 is a fair price from a manufcturer's standpoint. Except we are potential consumers. With a lack of labor, his hours are going to go up, and who is going to pay his $30 an hour paycheck? The customer. Unless this thing gets mass produced, it's simply not worth it.

I mean it's already labeled with the date; plus if he did it with one video he'd have to do it with all of them. Avan Carr Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I go to school AND work. I'm lucky to have the downtime I have, I wont waste it browsing a channel for newer videos. Especially since there is nothing that implies there is newer variants, I would have to make the assumptions. I don't know if it would take five minutes looking through the videos, or longer, or less, but I do know I'm just gonna click the x on the tab when I'm done viewing it from Reddit. If he were to just post a link in the description, which would be effortless, it would benefit everyone.
