4:14 this is why I love Pokemon. Take the character in my pfp for example. His name is Silver, at a young age him and Green (who you’ve mentioned before) were kidnapped by a masked man and forced to a life of abuse and servitude. They were turned into warriors, thieves, and just a bad bunch. Silver and Green manage to escape and encounter Red and Gold respectively. The manga doesn’t really treat Green or Silver as heroes or villains, rather as troubled individuals who are trying their best to overcome their trauma. If you look deep enough, Pokemon has a lot of love and soul put into it. It makes me feel like I’m not alone in my pain.

Wait so Ash is almost 11 but in Ep. 1 Ash says "Now that I'm 10 I can finally get a Pokémon license". To be this implies Ash has just become 10 only a few days ago. After all, knowing Ash's personality, would he really wait for 10 months after his birthday before he began his journey? But since Gary was also starting his journey on the same day I guess this implies there was a specific date where trainers could come and get their starters and they can't just go immediately to Prof. Oak on their 10th birthday.

I think we’ve learned from now that all Pokémon theories by default are just gonna go on game theory.

Justduh Huh. I didn't notice that, but now I do, it's nice. It feels like his older episodes which had a nostalgically enjoyable campiness to them.

I've always shipped Brock with Misty. I thought Ash would end up with either May or Dawn. Although now that I know that May was 10 and Ash was 14 and 15 during their time together, I'm starting to get 2nd thoughts. Same with Dawn, she was 10 and Ash was at least 15.

Yeah, The Only 2 That make sense to Ship with is only Serena (Because they were the Same Age Confirmed in an XY Flashback Episode) and Misty (Who was 11 during the 1rst Season 1 Gen 1)

Ash holds an everstone, he cant age. He will be 10 forever. xd Edit: But I have a theory on something: In sun and moon, ash joined the pokemon school near the start of the school year or something. Its probably been atleast a few months he has stayed in alola before returning to kanto. At the end of sun and moon in the extra scenes, you see professor burnet pregnant and now in pokemon journeys we see the baby so its probably been 8 months since the birth. So, the time in alola + the time during the birth. But dont forget that when Ash went back to Alola was episode 37, now its over episode 54. So, theoretically, if you add all of the time spent between it, it’s probably been a year and Ash SHOULD of had a Birthday. Also, don’t forget the 6 series before alola and journeys which adds EVEN MORE TIME in a year. But, knowing Pokémon, ash will stay 10 forever which means the baby will never have a birthday or anyone else.

People don't seem to realize that this theory is trying to figure out how old Ash should actually be, not how old he is in the anime. Love this idea though. Keep up the good work MatPat!

Omit Saying stuff like that goes against your religion. The one thing that doesn't help Ash's age is that in (I think) season one or two we had an episode, where Pikachu couldn't find Ash and as it turns it out he was getting ready to celebrate getting Pikachu a year ago

Hey MatPat. As a teenager I never went through "the changes" either. It's rare, but not unheard of in the real world. So maybe Ash has similar affliction to me. Believe me, I understand the annoyance of asking myself "why aren't there any changes?" myself

Well, I know it will have to be over one thousand because Ash and his friends encounter Jirachi in the movie Jirachi The Wish Maker. If you didn’t know Jirachi only appears for a week every thousand years, yet Ash encounters it once more in an episode in the Unova (I hope I spelled that right 😬) region. Meaning that I just helped you out a bit and he must be over one thousand.

Drizzy's Art i think the movies are canon but like the show and the games, theyre canon in their own timelines. Cant remmeber the word for it, but their canon as long as they dont directly reject or contradict the mainline series or something like that. Double check that one tho, i could be wrong
