First heard him on a Jay rock mixtape back in the day. The 30 day take over. Got a song called mandatory with Jay rock and K Dot on there. Had to be 2009 ish. I didn’t know him name as Kendrick Lamar so when he blew up and I heard people talking about Kendrick had no idea it was Kdot till I climbed out from under a rock and went to check out the music.

Nathan Mendes Hmm. Kendrick doesn't have the exact same sound that he used to, before he became Kendrick Lamar. Plus Game has put some of his older style here and there. Game is slept on a lot, because he sleeps on himself. He could always go as hard as he goes sometimes. He just needs the right environment, the right feeling. this was exactly when I became a Kendrick Lamar fan. I remember getting drawn to everything that had his name on it. I totally knew that he'd get as big as he is today. So unselfish of Game to give that whole acapella last part to an upcoming rapper

@@kvngcjgaming5559 nah,I think you're overstating the impact drake had on Kendricks success,barely nun....afterall,they were both getting established kinda at the same time...Same with Cole, Him and Kendrick had a hell of a good catalogue even b4 being signed,and a sort of cult following (I still bang section 80 to this day/and Friday night lights to me is still Cole's best body of work). Jay put on Cole with one song;A star is born,and from there he always kinda just went with the "I do all my shit myself" and it worked! Same with Kdot,the first time alot of niggas really heard the dude and said he is hungry etc was this feature right here! Dre,snoop,and the Game were the ones who gave him the title of the new king of the west in a show in L.A and this was his first real big Collab b4 gkmc! *Drakeee?!* Lmao.. Him and Cole cool as he produced HiiPower etc..it's respect on that part..! Kendrick and Nipsey toured with the Game on his L.A.X tour as opening acts,like this guy really helped put them on!!
