halo is definitely a franchise that was milked to death, and then revived just to get milked to death again, and again, in an never ending cycle.

Everything after bungie was milked, halo 3 was the ending to halo and reach is a prequel. Halo wasn't milked until 343 came along and made halo 4 and 5. (and infinite)

All things considered, I am happy with the master chief collection on pc. It has my favourite halos with modern graphical quality, frame rate and controls. They can beat the dead horse into mincemeat with the rest of the series for all I care, Reach was the last bungie one anyway

@@DaBlobMan Halo was indeed starting to get milked post Halo 3 with ODST and Reach since Bungie wanted to stop working on Halo after Halo 3, but Microsoft insisted on having two more Halo games before Bungie left, so Bungie made ODST and Reach. While they did have creative interest in doing these two games, it is clear that Bungie wanted to move on from Halo since 2007 and do Destiny. The irony is that Halo can be a franchise that can last a long while, it has that potential to be the equivalent of Star Wars (pre Disney SW era of course, lol) with its main media and expanded universe, but because of how mismanaged it has been since 2011, it has been unable to do so, hence why people feel the franchise has been milked to death, when in reality it just had all of its long lasting potential completely wasted.

I see the older Madden games usually on sale for 3 dollars at Walmart

There is no such thing as an annual release that isn't milked, that is not enough time to make a game

Call of Duty really fell hard after Black Ops 2. Ghosts was decent, AW and BO3 have their charm, but after it went downhill hard with only MW2019 and Cold War each seeming to bring the series back up... until the next game bringing it back down. All we get are mediocre CoDs now, nothing of actually high quality like back in the golden age of Call of Duty.

in code veronica's defense, it was the original intended Resi 3, while the resi 3 we got, Nemesis, was intended as a spinoff. But contractual BS meant that got switched around.

GTA Online was milked so hard that me didn't get a story dlc. GTA 4 is the best GTA in my humble opinion.

Gta v was so dumbed down. Control cars in the air. Heres some super powers if you suck. Gta 4 is not perfect but they course corrected way too much to appeal for the Fast and furious audience.

GTA 5 was milked

I never noticed just how many walking dead games there were, and so few are actually any good to play which is a shame. And you did miss at least one, "The Escapists The Walking Dead", from the prison escape game "The Escapists". I guess the link there is that one season basically took place in a prison? I enjoyed escapists but never played the walking dead version.

Final Fantasy 1 being released on multiple consoles isn't milking it. It's good to have a game be brought to modern consoles. Final Fantasy 7 on the other hand, I agree it has been milked heavily with its spin-offs and mobile games.

I’m so happy all of the Breaking Bad games ended after Criminal Elements. It sucked, and they stopped. A fate like the Walking Dead games is deserved by no tv series. AMC really doesn’t know what they’re doing with video games.

Here's my input with Madden for someone who plays it. The reason people keep buying Madden is simple: EA has the monopoly. Per the NFL, they're the only company allowed to release a football game. It's literally our ONLY option.

Like a Dragon makes much less as a franchise than Pokemon does, but they are doing full English localization as of the last three titles. That's no excuse.

A big problem with some of these sports games majorly madden is that the companies that make them have a monopoly on that specific sport so 2K has a monopoly on basketball and they actually pushed EA out of the market because EA stopped making NBA live and Madden has a monopoly on football. They signed a deal with the NFL that forced 2K to stop making NFL games. None of these companies have competition so they've gotten lazy, especially madden, EA will straight up release the same game and bring back old content claiming that it's new and remove good content for no reason and we will still buy it because we don't have any other choice. As a madden fan I can tell you we struggle the worst out of all the companies because this game is buggy and slow and some of the way that they run literally create game breaking situations and EA refuses to listen to the fans because as long as they keep bringing in money from MUT they have no reason to care

Most of these are spot-on, but Resident Evil is on such a roll right now with 7, 2 Remake, 3 Remake, Village & 4 remake that I'm happy to get a new Resident Evil BANGER every two years or so. I say on this series as long as the quality is great like it's been...keep bringing 'em on.

One you guys missed was Persona 5. I've never played a Persona game before but I got a friend with like every entry and I sat there confused as to why there's like a million Persona 5 games. There's Persona 5, Persona 5 Strikers, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5 Tactica, etc. I'm pretty sure we're bound to get Persona 5: Paying Off My Student Debt and Persona 5: Going In For A Colonoscopy later this year.

Golf games and NASCAR games (RIP) coming out every year is crazy to me. It’s literally the same thing every year, same courses, same tracks, basically the same drivers since most contracts are 3 years long.

Minecraft is more milked cause with Java and Bedrock, Bedrock has so much DLCs and crossovers with other medias that Minecraft bedrock is becoming a cashgrab, meanwhile I haven't stopped playing java edition as that's the original

Looking back at the late PS2 to PS3 days, Sony was definitely going hard on Ratchet and Clank. They had a lot of games on the PS3, had a few on the PSP and they made appearances in stuff like All Stars BR and PS Heroes. Which was kinda bizarre when they just kinda stopped and we didn’t really see Ratchet much until the movie/reboot on PS4, and now Rift Apart. And no new game coming really anytime soon even though supposedly they are making another one right now. One of the few times publishers realized they’re doing too much and tone it back.

What wasn't mentioned about Fable II Pub Games was how the gold you won in that game could be transferred into Fable II upon its release. Granted it served no other real purpose, but it was helpful at the start.

GTA V was milked so hard we didn’t get any story DLC which Rockstar stated they were going to do and is the reason it’s taken so long for VI to come out. Naughty Dog keeps milking the shit out of The Last of Us as well instead of making a new Jak and Daxter game.

Can't say I agree with your guys' idea of what "milked to death" means at all. That implies a series is doing a lot worse than before because of too many releases, but then two of your biggest examples are Pokemon and CoD, two franchises in their most financially healthy states they've been in a long time. You guys even point out the insane sales numbers of Cold War and S/V compared to their prior entries! (whether more positively received or not) In the very first sentence of the video it's said it's about cannibalizing the brand...but then you don't even stick to that reasoning 🤨

If Halo ended with 3 or ODST, I think i could live with that

Regarding Final Fantasy, the re-releases seems kinda odd to say its farming whats the alternative have it stuck on ps1 like isnt it a good things we can play it on all the consoles? Skyrim/ Last of Us are different because they add little things each release to entice people to double/triple dip while Final Fantasy for the most part just ports them. That being said the prices are a bit crazy for the pixel remasters so 🤷🏻‍♂️

I dunno if no one wants to say it, but Persona 5 has been milked to death. Dont get me wrong its my fav PS4, but cmon. Theres like 3 "main" Persona 5 games. Plus the spinoffs, plus the collabs, plus the rereleases, plus Persona X the gacha game. Im so sick and tired of the Phantom Thieves and Persona 5. Im so glad Persona 3 was never milked that bad. Thats my top 2 game of all time

I guess? I mean, as a fan of FF I'm still wanting to dig into 16 and Rebirth when they launch on pc. And most their games and spin-offs are at least entertaining for the most part.....the only time i THINK FF dipped badly was 13, 13-2, 13-3, then 15. But after 15 they seemed to learn their lesson and improved on the games.
