Like Xenophanes before him, I love how MX’s voice isn’t portrayed as a generic demon like most interpretations do, but rather a demon masquerading as Mario. Even after revealing his true form, you can still hear a sense of the real Mario within his voice. Makes him feel like “A demon with an Italian accent”, which is a very creative idea!

I love how you portrayed MX here. The way he mimics Mario is super uncanny, yet accurate. Then when he's in the chase, he sounds super energetic and almost even happy. Not because he enjoys your suffering (although he probably does) he says it himself: an easy prey is no fun. And the art really helps with that. "Mario"'s art at the start is unsettling to no end, and his chase art is phenomenal. Again, it looks like he really is enjoying the cardio he's getting. Really like the veins in his arm too. Amazing work as usual.

The idea of MX having Mario’s normal voice but sounding more aggressive with a few voice effects is amazing

One thing that I haven’t seen anyone mention yet: I love how the lyrics makes it sound like MX doesn’t even care if he kills BF or not, but rather just wants to have fun. Yes, he’s a creepypasta, and yes, he does talk about trying to torture BF and all, but the fact that he constantly mentions the entire thing being a game, along with the fact that BF would have to retry if he were to die, doesn’t kill or torture BF when the latter is hiding, taunts BF about how he should be getting tired when they’re running the second time, and then laughs even as BF escapes him makes it look like he’s simply enjoying the thrill of the chase rather than killing or torturing people. Seeing as this is a demonic version of Mario we’re talking about, it’s honestly really fitting.

My goodness, my favorite MX song being covered by one of my favorite lyric makers? Yeeeeeeeee! This was amazing! The art was astonishing and the vocals were fire! I really like how in the second artwork, Boyfriend isn’t in a scared pose like how most might portray him, you really stayed true to the character’s personality and I love that!

His False Hero form sounding like Mario makes sense, but his revealed form makes him feel more like an possessed Mario then A fake Mario. But then again this could have different lore with some differences, this would especially make sense since False Hero in the art looks like modern Mario when he’s meant look like the in-game sprite. @@GSPScorp but he's still taking on the form of Mario and hence it makes sense that he'd sound like Mario. similar to how in Triple Trouble with lyrics, since Xenophanes is taking on the form of sonic, his voice sounds like a more manacing and demonic Sonic. and in the scrap brain and hill sections of Green Hill with lyrics Juno didn't really change Sonic's voice when he turned out to be Sonic.exe.

I really hope this is just a regular Mario 1-1 theme cover to be in stark contrast with the sonic.exe cover a couple years back.

Okay, I've seen this Halloween special multiple times, and I've loved it every time. Everything about this is like eating a perfectly cooked soul- I mean, a perfectly cooked pizza. Your take on MX is super good, it totally slaughtered me with how you recorded two voices and layered them on top of each other. The lyrics were great, too. I loved every second of this. Kudos to you, Juno. Also, the fact that Girlfriend alluded to this in Triple Trouble with lyrics makes this even better. Seems like you can't even emulate a Mario game without facing danger (either that, or Boyfriend is so unlucky that his mere existance prompts everyone to kill him).

0:28 awesome song aside, that art is probably the most terrifying thing I have seen. It sound and look like good old friendly mario, someone who almost anyone would see as an positive, lovable plumber...but there's something off, something that just doesn't sit right, something that proves that whatever is standing in front of boyfriend is not mario, and even less a friendly entity.

As someone who's a huge MX fan (and a very close friend of his creator's), tHIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I've been following your work for a while and you never fail to amaze me every single time. I really love how MX's voice isn't the typical demon voice and actually fits his character, since he's supposed to pose as Mario. Phenomenal work!

This is incredible, I absolutely love the artwork and how MX's voice pans out!

I wanna point out my favorite detail in this, which is MX's eyes before his true form is revealed. His pupils are huge, and they make me think of how a cat's pupils get super wide when they're about to pounce. Basically, that one small detail really shows that MX sees Boyfriend as nothing but prey.

I like this take on MX's voice being a slightly off Mario voice that glitches with a hint of the actual Mario Love the lyrics where he's having fun playing this "game" as BF runs

Amazing Cover as always juno! You never fail to amaze me since the Zinnia cover and this song isnt a exepction from Marios Voice actually sounding like hes trying to pretend like mario still from the little details like adding an -a when he was the fake mario is all just put together nicely. Keep up the work!

I like how his dialogue as “Mario” is in a different font and properly uppercased to further show he was a fake

0:29 I would just like to point out that MX's fake form has the color pallette of the original SMB sprite and this art uses the current Mario. Good art nonetheless!
