For anyone who says that this kindness is only for foreigners, I will challenge you. Last year I had a terrible accident on Mombasa highway. I'm Meru and my then girlfriend is Nandi. The help we got from motorists, locals, rangers and police makes me cry when I watch this. Noone asked for any money. I know that this is the true spirit of Kenyans

Sorry for the accident. Thank God for the kind people who helped you out. Yes I agree our people are kind. I've helped out strangers and I've also received help. There's a shopkeeper that comes to mind. I was having a terrible migraine to the point of incoherence. I couldn't remember my words. Instead of sending me away with my painkillers, she gave me a seat and a glass of water. I think she stayed with me too until I was well enough to walk back home. And there's good neighbourliness in most of our neighbourhoods I believe. We love each other, not just foreigners.

To start with, praise be to the Almighty God that you survived without any serious physical injuries from this unfortunate accident. I admire the people who helped you, particularly the police officers, during this worst incident in your brave journey that we enjoyed following and learning about many places and people. My sincere prayers that you will be able to fix your fantastic tricycle or find a replacement to continue the adventurous journey. Looking forward to the next video, I wish you all the best! ✌️🙏✌️

Seems your frame is aluminium, the pipe is torn from the plate, with a few triangular pieces (flanges), it can be re-inforced without interfering with the folding of the bike. If you are in Nairobi West, you are very close to a workshop that can do this for you. From Nyayo Stadium, you will see Toyota across, with DHL opposite, continue down the road (Lusaka Road) and pass the petrol station on your right. You will see a multi-story building (about 8 stories) and a couple of double story buildings just after it. I've forgotten the name, but if you ask around there, there is a Kalasinga workshop that does aluminium welding.

Take a second to get through the shock/trauma/adrenaline. We’re cheering you on, do a live fundraiser and we’ll all show up and contribute to get you a new bike. Or get this one fixed and don’t make it foldable- which is complicated but looks like the most straightforward solution. Let us know how we can help you!

Nairobi got its "Nairobbery" nickname in the late '90s to early 2000s when there used to be rampant crime and carjackings. It's gotten much safer now and objectively no longer lives up to that name. The worst thing that can happen now is getting pickpocketed or your phone snatched in a rough part of town.

if you are looking for a more local type of fix i would suggest looking for a pipe of the same material as the bike (aluminum?) but it has to fit a little tightly inside the broken part. Then fit both pieces back together over this inside pipe and weld it together. This way you have a reinforcement inside and makes it a lot easier for a welder to combine the bike safely back together. Both of these should be available locally almost anywhere.
