This was good Jayme: The mixing tips particularly. Series on mixing bass with drums, bass with keys, bass with guitars? Which frequencies to tweak and where? That'd be very handy.

Jayme that was really informative , have you ever wondered why we as bassist like bass. I remember when I was 10 years old I was at a wedding listening to the band play and the double bass amazed me , when the band took a break I walked up to this huge bass and plucked a string , the sound it made pulled me in , a month later I had my first bass.

I think our instrument chooses us. I find most bass players are chilled, laid back supportive people who don't need the spotlight to be affirmed (which is exactly what our instrument does). And most singers and guitar players that I know are, well, you know :)

a lot of compression and a few BASS overdrive have a blend feature to PARELLE this effect for live applications

Hey Jayme! Why would you record 6 copies of the same bass part to 6 different tracks and put FX on those, when you can record one copy of it, put the FX on return channels, and use the send knobs? It seems cpu intensive and unnecessary to record so many copies of the same bass part at the front end. Great combination of processing though and very thorough explanation of each step! I’m just curious if there’s something that I’m missing because I usually opt to use the return channels.

It's called Ableton Live. I use it for all of my live performing, it's not really a DAW but it has one built in (that's how I like to think of it). DJ's love using it too.
