Because every theme song deserves the Glass treatment. For solo piano.

The Philip Glass Generator: Concept 1. Take a midi file of any song. 2. Decrease the songs original tempo by 40 %. 3. Add random scaled arpeggios on each midi track. 4. Set arpeggio tempo to 1.5 - 2 of the master tempo. 5. Switch/automate arpeggios tempo and scale during the whole track. And there you have it, the concept of the trick to philipglassifying any ol' midi track. Works on ProTools, FL Studio, Logic and on any daw that supports midi files imports. Which is all of them.

I just realized you’re the guy who posted a lot of Philip Glass’s sheet music on MuseScore. I remember coming across this GOT thing and vaguely remembering your username there. Most piano sheets of Glass I have on my IPad i got them from you. I’m quite a devoted listener of his music and started to learn how to play his Etudes recently. I remember you as someone who posted a lot of his sheet music on MuseScore more than a year ago. I was researching on DFW because I have been trying to read Infinite Jest for the last 2 months and then I discovered your narration of his writing. My mind is blown!

I'm a big fan as well. This recording is just a virtual piano playing back the MIDI file. I would have to practice a good bit to be able to play it straight through like this without pauses and missed notes and what not. I'd love to hear a better pianist give it some life, though ; ) (also, my name's not actually Patrick, that was just an unnecessary spongebob reference)

Philip Glass would use different rythms than the arpeggios of 8ths you put. It's hard for me to say in english but I think he would put triolets of 8ths, making it 6 notes/beat instead of 4.

@@EugeneOneguine Totally. I've studied his music a lot more since I made this and would probably do it completely differently. Those triplet 16th rhythms are classic. Maybe one day.

Patrick, you do the best narration of any I've heard for ASOIAF. Your accents of the likes of the Yunkai, for example, are especially unique and authentic sounding. I look forward to new chapters being narrated by you. Keep up the great work!
