Thank you Branislav for making this video. My copy of Horseless Carriage arrived last week. It is now out on my table as I play a dummy round. I shall lean heavily on how you taught the game when I introduce it to my friends. I'm very excited about playing this most excellent game.
I think you missed a rule. In phase 7 when you’re determining which dimension will be added to the axis next, the first tie-breaker is whichever dimension/research track has a player marker furthest right from the white wooden marker. The second tie-breaker is whichever strip is topmost. Otherwise an excellent video!

Correct, and I've already posted the update/correction to the description of the video.
I've been watching your videos for a while. Always very helpful. This one takes the cake, and I wanted to say well done, and thank you for covering heavier games like this one.

Thank you for this! Very difficult rulebook to parse. Very excited to have the game on hand soon :)
Thank you, Branislav, for making the difficult easy. excellent explanation and video
You have become my favorite video tutorial channel. I had a hard time understanding the game from the rulebook and you have solved an unplayable game for me. I’m eagre to start this game now I know how. Great job and thank you.

Skvělý, už jsem myslel že se to budu učit jenom z pravidel!
Thanks for great tutorial! During the setup you don't draw 4 neutral cards, but (player count + 1) cards.
Thank you for this concise explanation
YES! Not watching this now, but later when I get the game. Your tutorials are great and I'm sure this will help me learn the game easier. Thanks!

Thanks!
Great rule explanation as usual. The game looks super fun. I hope i get to play it one day
Well done! We learned and played the game yesterday for the first time. Now, after having seen your tutorial, i have to admit, that we made a lot of minor errors. Some rules are quite fiddly, especially handling the requirements of the sectors, but they are logical after having learned. The manual is really short and lacks an inventory list, an overview of the setup, explanations of wordings and examples of tricky constellations. It is a really good game with a bad manual.

I understand, a few more pictures would be helpful. And if you look at that manual - there's A LOT of free space for pictures. 🙂
Danke!
Hi Branislav: excellent job as usual. Let's see when we play. I have bad feelings there, but let's wait and see: anyhow you need at least to try each splotter game once.

Thanks so much for this clear overview of the rules! Very clear examples and edge cases also. One remark: In Phase 7 I believe the track that is furthest to the right (compared to the min. Spec. Marker) wins the tie. So in your example the Design track should go into place. Do you agree?

Yes, I've already made a note in the description of the video. :)
I may have missed this, but what is the significance of the numbers on the technology tiles? For example, the engine you showed had a red 1, a green 1 and a blue 5
@nithrania-gameinanutshell
Жыл бұрын
Those numbers indicate the position of that technology on different research tracks. So, looking at the engine tech tile - you immediately see that it can give you 3 upgrades, one red, one green and one blue, and those upgrades are on positions 1, 1, and 5 on research tracks.
Branislaaaaaaavvvvv !!!! I have been waiting for you to post this video before I start playing. Have you tried it yet? What did you think? Splotters are my favorite games. Antiquity, Indonesia, Roads & Boats, Food Chain, Bus. How does this rank against them?
@nithrania-gameinanutshell

I haven't played Indonesia yet (can't find any copy! 🙃), but I think this game will be a hot contender for the best Splotter game I have ever played! Fantastically clever, highly interactive, so deep, I am totally hooked on this game. I can say right now (spoilers alert! 😄) - in my TOP 5 games of all times instantly!

I suppose the part that was a bit unclear for me was during the factory setup step each round, there is no cost to construct different factory rooms? You can just build as many as you can fit each round for free? But never move them under any circumstances in later rounds?

The mainline has A,b,c,d. Are those not adjacent to each other within the mainline?
@nithrania-gameinanutshell
Жыл бұрын
OK, I had to re-read the question several times to understand it, but I think I know what you mean now! 🙂 I believe the adjacency is checked BETWEEN the tiles, not really WITHIN the tiles. 🙂 And the adjacency is always horizontal or vertical, not diagonal. Hope this helps.

I did a double take when I saw the patchy printing on the tiles when I received my copy. Oh, how I wasted my money on sub-par printing! And then realise that the designer had deliberately made it patchy so that it gave the feel of playing a game printed a hundred years ago. I love the metallic sheen on the vehicle tokens and feel that the designer did a good job of making the state of play obvious through their choice of colours.
Thanks
