It’s ridiculous because for the majority of human history, only the extremely rich could afford vanilla, because of how difficult it was to import. Now I just go down to the supermarket and grab a 2 litre tub.

As someone who used to work at a factory that made ice cream I can attest that Arin is partly correct. Brand new vanilla ice cream is indeed made from a base that the flavour is added to. HOWEVER in some cases leftover ice cream that is saved at the start and end of the packing process is caught in food safe buckets and sent back to processing where its sterilised and re-used as the base for many other flavours, including chocolate and strawberry. But not mint choc chip. Thanks for listening

I drink jugs of vanilla extract every second of the day, 24/7. I bathe in vanilla extract, I rub it all over myself. I can feel the creamy vanilla coming inside of me and taking over. I am now vanilla.

I think the argumant for 'vanilla' here is that it's looks surprisingly-plain (It's more 'white' than chocolate is 'black') and tastes closer to the base-'milk' ingredient. The 'flavor' is technically the only thing that differentiates it. But I expect a twenty-reply counter-argument on this. Knock yerselves out; I usually don't revisit the dumbass comments I make.
