That's extremely "technically"

There's something uncanny about the accuracy of the IHOP layout that really caught me off guard. The muppet style really makes the tonal whiplash between civilian restaurant & swordfight feel positively normal in a way that matches the conversation in a way I don't think anyone else's animation could. As always, these are a pure delight!

I love the design of D. He fits so well with the muppet style.

This is quickly becoming my favourite animation channel lol, you have such a unique style and the way you incorporate every sound, word, phrase and joke into the animation is so amazing every time

Its funny how dan is consistently scottish accent yet arin slips from slightly irish to slightly scottish mix

One thing I really appreciate is the animations you add to the characters even without the audio cues, like the Grumps reacting to D following them everywhere and what he says. It’s like a whole new experience rewatching the animation looking at different parts of the scenes!

One of my favorite pieces of your character design is that arin has underbite and dan has overbite. It not only works stylistically but it also just feels right because of their personalities

I like that this scottish king has in depth knowledge on American breakfast restaurants.

These characters are just canon to me now in the GG Animated universe. Huge fan of your work, thank you for sharing and keeping all of us laughing!

D seems the kinda person who is on the wall of restaurants for eating those big burgers in a hour challenges. And will only tell you the secrets to them if you go to every location of a restaurant of his choosing in the US.

man I love these animations dude, the puppet designs are just so recognizable. This makes me wish they made that running joke throughout the whole series, D the food expert is such a random GG character but he's so lovable

Your animations are always so great. I love how the sheep king keeps popping up in these! Also, man you are fab at using the pupil size at helping to indicate or emphasize the characters' emotions. It's such a cool way to get around the "limitations" of the more rigid puppet style, and really helps make your animation stand out!

I really love the fluidity of the motion. Also that the diners have the same BG but they FEEL like it's different, like the 'Denny's' feels like denny's and not IHOP, but... it's the same bg, Camera angles, man.

I originally was planning on at least doing a pallet swap to make the backgrounds different, but looking at reference images for both you really couldn't tell the difference most of the time. So I leaned into it and just kept them identical

Danny wheezing and this pupils going teensy tiny always makes me laugh.

For some reason, what gets me about this one is that the victorious foe at 1:11 refuses to engage with any of this. Generally, people who are sidelined for one of these digressions show some kind of opinion about it. Not this guy. He is *on task,* and he is going to make sure Arin does not get back up. He is not going to fall for the burger name ruse again.

One of my co-workers is basically a real life "D". No matter what food place you mention, he's eaten at it and knows all the best stuff to order. Everyone needs a "D" in their life. Also, me personally, Hardees has the best fast food burgers. They're cooked on a charcoal grill, so they have a different flavor, and they're the only fast food place I've eaten at where the food comes out looking as good as the pictures on the menu. At least at the one near my house; can't speak for other locations. Maybe my location just lucked out on getting really good cooks. XD

I remember I was in a Hardee's and I asked what the difference was between Carl's Jr and Hardee's was if there was one and the employee told me that Carl's Jr has more side options and Hardee's has more sandwich options

(*Puts on my old southerner voice*) Back in my day, Hardee's was a fast food restaurant that used to serve delicious fried chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies, etc. Oh, and they had ice cream cones with 3 flavors of ice cream: vanilla, chocolate, and both flavors twisted together. Then, that asshole Carl's Jr turned Hardee's into a mediocre burger joint like all the other fast food burger joints around here and got rid of what made them good 😔. My region only had Hardee's and KFC for fried chicken. The KFC wasn't nearly as good and they closed down. Since Hardee's is nothing more than just another burger and sandwich place now, the nearest fried chicken restaurant is a KFC/Pizza Hut combo over half an hour away. Which is okay, but not as good as Hardee's was. When Hardee's briefly brought back the fried chicken during the pandemic, it was awesome. Then, a couple of years later, they took it away. And that's why I am forever angry at Carl's Jr. Although, I will give them credit for making chilli cheese fries without the beans, but it doesn't make up for the fried chicken.

I would like to argue that despite their similar branding, Carl's Jr and Hardee's are NOT the same! I have eaten at both, and maybe I went to a bad one, but Hardee's was vastly inferior to its Carl's Jr counterpart.
