We the British invented the phrase "More-ish" to describe the desire to consume more of a product. This would be used to describe Greggs. I'd argue that the less sugary, less fat, less strong flavoured design of British food is why its more-ish. You can consume so much of it because it isn't as large or as potent as US and Canadian food. Like in Canada I can get through one large chip packet, but in the UK I can consume like 6-8 smaller packets of crisps in a single sitting. I'm so grateful there is a British food shop here in Canada, I buy around $150 worth of snacks whenever I visit, it scratches my home sickness, but then consume it in 24-48 hours. More-ish!

Why does the timer for ads pause whenever you pause an ad? They're not gaining anything from us watching the ad since they already get revenue from throwing ads at us but why does Google force their users to watch the ads until 5 seconds have passed or until it's completely over?

Proposition for someone to create a KZread extension that mutes ads whenever they play?

If I was an advertizer who wanted to have YT push my advert, id want YT to ensure my ad was actually watched... If I knew that my ad was simply skippable, id probably pay less for an ad slot, or take my business elsewhere.

Also already paying for limited data on cellular makes you theoretically pay for the ads. 🤔

KZread isnt just "throwing ads at us". Advertisers are paying KZread to advertise to us. They are different levels of ads a company can pay for. In this example you are referring to the skippable in-stream ad. The company is paying for at least 5 seconds of your attention. You are then offered to skip it if it doesnt grab your attention. They can pay more for the non-skippable. Basically a company has paid KZread for different levels of your attention.

Lol Thor's comment on people wasting time is amusing... But I don't think those people would actually contribute to us living on Mars in the first place. They'd just find something else unreasonable to complain about. Is what it is.
