Thor is a good dev. They make a good match

I feel like Thor is less fair with the "This is Undertale" comments than is maybe understandable. Distilled to a very high degree, they do appear similar at a glance. Pixel art, old RPG camera angle (it's not top down or isometric, dunno what to call this actually), both have anthropomorphized characters, and are largely about the way you treat the NPC's. Yes Heartbound has a lot more and the differences under each category make it even more different, but I think it'd be fair to at least place them in the same genre. And much like people saying CoB stole Undertale's combat, they only have one good comparison game so far, so they aren't going to call it "Undertale-like" they're just going to say Undertale.

Okay but what is the intent of the statement "This is undertale" There is mainly two, the most charitable but least likely A: they actually thought it was undertale. B: This is a copycat of undertale. the second statements only value is to diminish the value of the project, it doesn't hold any positive value. If you rebuild a classic car from scratch vs buy a cheap 2nd hand car and someone treats those as equal accomplishments I would imagine most people would be rightfully annoyed. Also you are too charitable with why they chose the words, this is undertale.

It may be a healthier approach for Thor to assume negatively of everyone and give a small percentage of good actors a sort of disillusioning shock? Probably. Doesn't reduce the point though.
