    *We tried this out finally yesterday and it worked awesome! **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s we put it on our 16 foot aluminum boat and trolled with it. We didn’t catch anything but it was still fun and worked awesome! Can’t wait to use this baby again and hopefully reel in a big ole fish! Very easy to install and set up.*

  • @OceanAddict

    I now only fish livebait and that's the slowest I can get on the engine which is between 1 and 1.5 knots which also seems to be perfect speed to troll livebait. I used AFW kingfish 4.0 hook ready made rigs red/white and pink skurts seem to work well for me. When I troll lures I troll at 4 knots speed and only prefer Storm deep diving lures Red/Silver for most species and the Pink Storm to target Cobia. Hope that was helpful

    It's a 5ltr tank and I've trolled and changed locations covering 30+km in about 6 hours of continuous trolling and I barely use 1.5ltrs of fuel so I'm guessing it would last me a whole day even at full speed but I always only use the motor at 4.5knots max trolling speed when moving or changing spots, hope that helps

  • @1TruePatriot

    @1TruePatriot

    A "trolling motor" is not, by definition, electric--as you seem to believe. Before there were battery-powered trolling motors, there were gasoline-powered trolling motors, mostly 2-stroke, and many were AIR COOLED, as they were so light weight and low powered, they didn't need water cooling, and it's added cost/complexity.

    It's a Honda 2.3HP and I have extended the throttle using a regular bike clutch wire any mechanic should be able to do it along with that I've extended the kill switch so I can switch off and start from my seated position, attached a rope to the pull start... Sounds a bit confusing but very easy once it's all setup. I weigh 90kgs I have my live well full and I get 6knots at 75% throttle although I only use it at trolling speed of 4knots and get 6 hours of trolling on 2$ of gas... The gas tank holds 8$ of gas = 10 litres. Hope this helps happy to answer more

    Hey bro I'm setting up my pelican catch pwr 100 this winter, with my new 2.5 Suzuki outboard. I weigh 145lbs, like to fish and camp a few nites, with Different adventures I plan. What can i expect for around 3/4 to full throttle mph on my boat. Total weight with me, and all gear on boat will be approx 270lbs, that includes the boat weight. Be safe thank you..

  • @OceanAddict

    @OceanAddict

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thats almost the same weight as I have on my kayak but then the PA is much heavier also depends on the Hull shape. I never got 3/4 throttle maybe if really need in rough weather otherwise I suggest going only half way where you find a sweetshop and can feel the engine is not straining. I've noticed kayaks don't go above 6knots 3/4 throttle power anyway so I always cruise at 4knots and also troll lures while I'm at it.... I fill my patrol 5ltr can for 3$ fish 6 continuous hours at say 4 to 5 knots and at the end ive only used like 10% fule = 0.5$ maybe... hope this helps

Hull speed maximum 7 to 8 km depending on weather wind and tide. Thinking to upgrade to bigger electric motor. Notice you don't carry mirage drive. No no..... I have used the electric and 1050 riggers for many years. kzread.infoUgkxbjBedIFSQ6Y6rp8DrCC_aoWMZI8GUpmH I bought these lake trollers for my 15’ Grumman sport boat and they worked almost perfectly for fishing lake trout. The only negative is that they seemed sticky on the retrieval, so I removed the spool and greased the underside of the stainless steel plate with some lip balm (the only thing I could think to use that I had on the boat with me). Then they worked much more smoothly. I don’t recommend using these down riggers if you’re planning on fishing deeper than 50’ as you’ll spend more time cranking than you will fishing.

    - Gas tank and Engine g as covers are drilled with a hole on the top and fitted with fuel line connectors, remember to make a small hole in both covers too for air to pass I only have to press about 5 or 6 times every hours or so to pump fuel up to the engine (Photos attached ref)

    It was a DIY project opened the Throttle and extended the wire using a bike clutch cable... I can steer with the regular PA14 rudder and the extended DIY tiller arm on the engine
