There was so much attention to detail in this game. If you crawled, the OST would slow down. If you were under a wacky transformation, the OST would distort. If you stood idle long enough, an odd sound would play and Wario would jumprope/ pump some dumbells. Sound effects would change under water. That's only scratching the surface too. No wonder Pizza Tower was inspired by this game, this is one of the underrated greats in gaming history.

I like wario land 3 on oldchool gb the best. But this is really groovy with all the colors👈🤣

When I was a kid my dad, grandpa, cousin and me would occasionally go to the woods my grandparents owned where him and my dad had built a homemade cabin out of old hospital doors (they both worked for the hospital when it got tore down and the new one was built so they got anything they wanted before the building was destroyed) and stay the night. Dad and grandpa would usually just sit around talking and drinking while playing old country songs and me and my cousin would sit around and play game boy games. It was a tiny junky little cabin with a potbelly stove for heat and old hospital mattresses set up on homemade bunk beds but we’d get the heat roaring in there and cook ham and bean soup all night for breakfast in the morning and me and my cousin would stay up all night playing old game boy games. The things I’d do to go relive those nights

One thing I really love about this game is Wario's complete and total irreverence, as implied by both narrative and gameplay. He finds out about this treasure trove of a temple, and without hesitation just goes there and plunders it. No questions asked, no curiosity towards the mysteries within, just rapacious, untempered greed.

I love how Wario shows no fear even at the darkest of times. Mario always gets frightened by shcoking events, big bosses and Bowser, Wario just goes "YEEEAAH!" and pumps iron while they're preparing for battle.

You missed the ending story.

Wario Land 4 is easily one of my favorite games. It is so imaginative in its settings, and that pure creativity from the devs seeps into the mechanics as well, as they get as much as possible out of the Wario Land foundation. Infinitely repayable. And don't get me started on the soundtrack, Mama Mia so many jams.

The vision of Nintendo to create these masterpieces has always admired me. I hope I get to see a new version of my favorite antiheroe in switch. The quality of the worlds in this game is absolutely superior than another 2d games.

I remember my dad getting me a GBA with this for Xmas as it was recommended to him by some chap at Gamestation - I was literally glued to this from start to finish. The music is really something special and it’s definitely one of Nintendo’s weirdest games for sure. And those sprites are just stunning. Possibly the best game on GBA (alongside Mario & Luigi) for me.

Man, this game. So many cool visuals and sounds, and just really well made overall.

The music and sound effects of this game will live in my head forever. Also, I could never beat this game as a kid. It seems like every game boy advance game was so hard to beat.

One of the first games to give me such a trippy feeling, amazing game overall such a great childhood memory

And it all slowly comes back to me. The memories playing this game.

I can’t believe Wario of all characters got a game as good as this. One thing I really liked was how precise Wario’s controls are.

Here to relive old memories now that Pizza Tower just came out!

I still remember the sore thumbs and the game noises I would continue to hear after turning the game off.

This is definitely Wario's greatest achievement. The game itself is even good.

This is one of the gems that shows just how much one could do with the GBA.

As wario said once "look guys look, its one of my gratest achivement wario land 4 on the game boy advance ha ha!"

Funny how the bees try to sting you and end up pollinating the flowers, when they literally intend to sting the heck out of you.

I'm ill right now and seeing this game makes me so happy and emotional. My absolute favourite game when I was a kid, I miss it so much.

“HURRY UP!” I love this game! They need to remake these type of wario games.

Do you know why this game has FROG switches? Because in japanese, the word for frog is kaeru,(蛙) but there is another word which is also kaeru (帰る) but means to go back/return. Therefore by stepping on the "kaeru" you will need to "kaeru." I've seen references to the double meaning of this word many times in japanese pop culture.

when i was a little kid, kindergarten, i got a jacket from the lost and found at the end of the year, you could take whatever wasn't claimed (private school) and Warioland 4 was in the pocket. got ran through the wash before i even found it. but it still worked! also how i was introduced to the guitar. i was at a birthday party and there was a guitar, but no pick. i just went to my mom's car and grabbed this game to strum away 😂 i had to come back and relive this game 😊 thank you, and God bless!

Pizza Tower got me curious about this game, I never played Wario before but if I get my hands on an old Gameboy Advance I will definitely consider getting this one.

This was hands down, my favorite Nintendo game of all time.... It was fun, intuitive, and ahead of it's time.... Such attention to detail is amazing!!!! Its such a great game.... Hands down.... I would play it all night when I was younger....especially during the holidays.... I would relax on the couch under a blanket near the tree and just play it until the DS died....

The ambiance of this game and the little extras and music fucking captivated me as a kid

What is Wario saying all the time? ^^ "Alto" "Brego" What does it mean? I like how he stresses the player by saying "Hurry up!" when the timer starts each level. So much weird and psychedelic sounds in this game too.

I feel so nostalgic, it was the best time of my life, patent not divorce, sister not angry ( we play this together), no think of life or money, nothing, just endless adventure in video games

This game is over 20 years old and these visuals 😍

Wario land 4 always had a special place on me, beaten super hard mode and got the best ending, playing pizza tower really is a worthy succesor but I'll replay wario land 4 one of these days.

Nothing has ever lived rent-free in my head the way this game has.

I can see the inspiration from Wario Land 4 in Pizza Tower, it all lines up well.

I so remember playing this lovely game. The soundtrack is one of the fondest memories of this game...the Toy Block Tower music was one hell of an ear worm.

Just started playiong this for the first time, and I can understand why it's so loved. My only regret was not playing it back on release!!

BTW if you are reading this, this person played in Hard mode for some stupid reason. If youre going to play the game yourself for the first time, I highly recommend you play in normal mode as hard mode can be very frustrating as the gem pieces you need to find are placed in much harder to find areas and enemies/levels/bosses get a more challenging. Ive played the game a number of times myself, but playing through hard mode for the first time right now and I was wondering why it felt so weird and from another video of normal mode I confirmed that theres a number of differences that I mentioned before.

god I remember how difficult it was to beat this game >< all the puzzles and little secret places, watching this now thinking how did I even solve any of that and there wasn't any walkthroughs at that time. it's such a fond memory of the past :")

Ya know what’s weirder than this game is how I up tamed it. All of my other GameBoy advanced cartridges were either given to me as gifts or I had bought them. But this one came out of no where. I just found it as a lone cartridge sitting by itself in the middle of a JCPenny’s and took it home with me.

If anyones here reading this to see if they should get this game, stop the video and buy it now, its one of the best games ever made and the best marioverse platformer.

Yeah, most of the Wario voice clips are also recycled and used in Twisted and Touched.

Like many people, I had this game first with my platinum GBA. Brings back so many memories.
