Hit my 2nd Royal Flush at Chevron in 96 over on Sunset road in Henderson. It took a half hour to wait around for a hand pay but it was worth it. Hit one at a laundry mat on Tropicana across from the Liberace museum while in college at UNLV (got my degree in gambling). The hand pay was much quicker. Thanks for putting out such great content.

Here's some trivia: the number of licenses issued for slot and video poker machines in Clark County, NV peaked at 152,710 in 2006 and declined to 98,381 in 2020, rebounding to 105,875 by the end of 2022. My guess is that he decline is due to the replacement of Game King multi-game machines with games that require more floor/counter space and a decline in distriobuted gaming (slots in grocery stores, convenience stores, and truck stops).

I remember when I first moved to Las Vegas. There are slot machines in every grocery store. The first time, I picked up a loaf of bread and won $10. The next day, I picked up a dozen eggs and lost $20.

I won $210 at a bar on the way to Kroger to get my Turkey Monday, playing a game called Frost & Fire. I was betting $1.00 a spin and I got about 5 bonus payouts, I started with $60, and left with $270, and I was in and out in 30 minutes. I got there at 10:30am and left at 11:00am. It put a little gas in my truck, paid for all my Thanksgiving stuff, and I still had $140 left over.

You'll find a casino at gas stations in Montana also!

My buddy and I flew into Vegas, each with a $500 bankroll. He started playing the machines at the airport and lost $200. Then at the casino he lost his last $300 playing slots within about two hours. Meanwhile, I was playing my usual Keno and was up by $700. He came and borrowed $500 from me. He promptly lost that too and came to borrow more, but I said no. I was just holding even and wasn't going to lessen my bankroll so he could just lose it again. I knew he'd pay me when we got back, but I knew I couldn't borrow anything from him if I got on a losing streak! He sat in our room sulking for the next two days!
