+Rashmi Agarwal Please check if top of the bridge is profiled correctly. Also check the spacing of strings. The top of the bridge should have enough curvature so that when the bow is on any string, there is still enough gap between the bow and adjacent strings. if the bridge is profiled well, what is needed is more practice. It's simple and easy to achieve with practice.

Thanks for the instructional video. One question, how do you decide where/when to apply the gamakas? For example, around 4:27, you did not apply gamaka to Ma but earlier you applied it to Re and Ga.
@NarayananKameswaran
7 жыл бұрын
It depends on context. Multiple scenarios are possible. In this case (specific to your question), Ma follows Ga and is also the ending swara on the curve that contains Sa, Re, Ga and Ma. If we play Ma from Re or Sa, Ma will get a form of Gamaka because it was played as a "Vakra" swara, skipping Ga. Or, if we begin with Ma, it still can receive the Gamaka treatment. Application of gamakas also depends on the speed in context. Most importantly, it depends on the Raaga's Bhaava (dynamic personality).
