One of the greatest stand up comics! What a talent. He will be missed!

I was in my 20’s when he hit the scene and I never laughed more at any comedian than him. His grasp of the English language and his looking at life’s things from a different angle set him apart . Too bad there aren’t comedians like him today.

Saw Gallagher at The Sands hotel in Vegas on May 31, 1991. My wife and I were getting married the next day, and he called us out from the audience about 3 times. He was very funny!

Kids don't realize that 30 years ago no one had a personal giant trampoline. This was actually a novel idea at one time. They also don't realize that this particular part of his set was already a full hour after he did normal standup without any props. And when the couch came out the background people went nuts because they new something weird had to be coming eventually. It is Gallagher after all.

Pretty cool, I didn't know that about this particular show. He was truly unique. I'm glad I got to watch him on HBO growing up in n the 1980s. I wish could have seen a live show just once but never got the chance. 13 Nov.2022

I'm 35 I remember ppl had personal trampolines.this one is regular size it's just made to look like giant couch.i remember big trampolines in ppls yards not round but big rectangular trampolines

man got a great hit on that second melon, it exploded outward almost evenly. that was Single Coat, Full Coverage, the whole front row got a complementary fruit cup, sans the cup.

OMG I remember the big couch! The original big comfy couch! I so forgot about it! I was young but loved watching him and my mom would laugh so hard she would cry! Nobody can ever replace him and he will be forever missed. RIP thank you for the memories and laughs. 💜

Think this was the first comedian/special I ever watched. Guessing I was 8. This takes me way back.

I saw this guy perform he was awesome. There were hecklers and he totally chewed them out.

i was on the verge of suicide, and then i saw this video and decided i had something to live for. long live gallagher

its funny because he come up with the craziest props. i liked what he made.

This was back in the 80's when what he was saying was logical for the times. Anyone who grew up during the time frame, watching him will understand him.

Kinda reminds me of this kid's show called "The Big Comfy Couch" where this little girl kept her toys in the crack of the couch.

Went to two of his shows in Salinas, years ago. The last one was the elephant on the high diving board. Great comedian.

It's just that age were you'll always be a kid and watching someone as pure as gallagher be a kid will always tickle the funny bone. You just have to learn to appreciate all styles of comedy and all styles of people. Woody Allen is classic too :3

My GOD!!! Its been nearly 18 years seince I seen this Guy he is one of the Best Comedians in the WORLD!. First time i seen this man I was only 7 years Old!. I would sit with my dad and watch him on HBO waaaaaayyy late at night before I went back to bed dad and I would try not to laugh too damn hard from his best standup commadies and wake up my mom and she would scold both of us LOL!.

ONLY GOD COULD MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH HARDER AND LONGER

I saw him live in 1992. His show was two hours and forty five minutes long! And funny all the way through.

I found out that this was made in 1983 (I thought it was made in 1978), so I was like 2, 3 years old when this was made, so yeah, this is of my time. I grew up watching this guy!

Sigh I remember watchin this when I was a kid... Wow I am typing this when I first clicked it I had no idea this was the trampoline couch!!!! I loved watching this when I was younger HAHAHAH I always wanted that couch!!!

OK Gallagher did it first with the big couch 🛋️ but years later, this cartoon woman had a TV show and it was called the big comfy couch 🛋️ I’m not sure if that’s based off Gallagher’s big couch 🛋️ but if it is now, you know where it came from

The show that had this big couch was one of the best, but the beginning was better than the couch sequence. I bought 2 of his tapes and was disappointed. The ones I taped myself are the best shows. One tape worked ok and the other one had bad audio and couldn't hear him. I hear he's still performing - hope so. I'm still a fan and looking for DVD's of the good shows.

Saw Gallagher twice and loved it! If you have ever dealt with performers, you will find out they require recharge time to try to get back to some sort of balance. Interuptions to their routine (and sometimes their ritualistic process of getting back in balance) can sometimes prompt an unpleasant outburst. Don't you want to unwind and chill after a tough day at work? Let them do it their way. You got your performance and that is what you paid for when you bought you ticket. Now go home!

Waal, I realize that many intellectuals and deep thinkers may find this sort of slapstick comedy dull, but I'm an engineering major with a tested IQ of 163, and I done laughed my ass off, my friend.

Gallagher has always been one of my all-time favorite comedians, and I wasn't even born during his time! Less talk, more sledge! LOLz!
